It's obviously a bedtime story/children's story in universe; we know it's wrong because of how it describes Nirn, The Aedra and Daedra coming about. Nirn came about when the already existing Et'ada who would become Aedra were persuaded by Lorkhan to create it, the Daedra were just the Et'Ada that didn't join them. We know this because the Aedra ripped out Lorkhans heart when they found out that creating Nirn was draining them and that Heart is the central focus of Morrowind.
