Fantastic collection and a superb way of presenting it. Our personal favourite remains the BR 103. It is of course a Märklin classic, but specially the Roco version seem to run ultra smooth to our experience. Hi Martin. This might be old news for you, but I have seen 3056 'Krokodil' coupled with multiples of Güterwagen 4605. Also, I have Märklin catalogue from 1981. It shows a real life photo of the Krokodil and lists the consist as 4639, 4698, 4632, 4618, 4627, 4631, 4624, 4626, 4633, 4610. I believe some of these aren't truly prototypical consists, but I see 4605 in the real-life photo for sure!

The V-160 family is holy for me. I am raised with a (real) red 215 and a blue/beige 216 i have (illegally) learned to start and ride this locomotives when is was 13. On my layout i run a red Marklin 217 and a blue/beige 217, and a blue/beige 218 with Esu loksound4 by Piko.

Nice collection you’ve got. I would suggest taking a look at the locos from Dekas, which also produces Swedish models. Those are high-quality and extremely well detailed. Might be a bit pricey, but surely value for the money.

What a coincidense, my dad finally gave me his 60/70s Märklin, and I'm building a track for functiontesting in the kids room. Got 5 engines; 3000, 3021, 2 of 3065 and a 3030. All with the oldest motors, so many coals and brushes are on servicelist. I do envy Your T44's and the wonderful DM3. As I have followed You in a couple of years I'm always amazed of Your skills. Suggestion for the D109 - you could make a plinth and mount it somewhere if you have some space outside a station it would make a nice scene. There are real-world examples in a lot of places in Europe. E69 04 is plinthed at Bahnhof Murnau for example. 😎

Have you checked the solders for the BR 420 had same issues with another model of Märklin and it was due to bad connections on the motor.

Such a awesome list, and I did not know that Märklín had made a new version of the BR012 and even as a starter set gotta find one to purchase if possible. I have the old BR012 3710 as an heirloom from my grandfather, so it would be awesome to one day see it running again.

I have no experience with Märklin models as I collect 2 rails DC system, but I am a bit surprised about the huge amount of defect models you have mentioned. I thought that Märklin has a top quality product range in spite of the fact that I don`t have good experiences with Trix products meanwhile Trix is affiliate to Märklin. You should try ESU 31336/31337 (depending on chosen era) if you are thinking about purchasing a new V200. I don´t have (yet) but they seem to be very nice and good quality. Hello Martin! Thanks for one more of many interesting videos. A question. I am in the process of building a shadow station as in this video but much smaller with only two parallel parking tracs in a lower level under my layout. I want the trains to stop automatic when reaching its track as i can’t see that. I would like a simpel sollution - is it possible? On my old analog railway I connected a separate power cabel with a push button to one trac part. Train stopped at this position and just to push the button again when get started. Is this possible with a digital system or will it destroy loco and/or the mobile station. Regards / Gert

Thank you Eli! About conversion from analouge to digital.. CHeck with your local dealer if it´s possible or not. If possible, the process is simple.. You just add a digital decoder in the locomotive, buy a digital control handle (or command station) and you´re done.

Did U know The Danish MY loco is in a rare paint? Only 2 were paintet this way, and was an inbetween paint when DSB went from The red/brownish color to Black/red

Nice video! Just getting into modelrailroads and wonder how you can run Jeco/Roco and other brands on Märklin tracks. I have a 2006 starter set from Märklin and probably gonna stick with it, but i like for example x2 and other Swedish trains that other brands provide

Hi! Thank you! Both Roco and Jeco manufacture 3-rail versions for Märklin tracks. Not all of them run well on Märklin tracks anyway unfortunately. Roco almost always do. Jeco only some models. C-track is the best Märklin track to run other brands. M-track is terrible. K-track is acceptable.

Nice Video, i own a Lot of the Locos you got. Little Tip for the BR420. Replace the Decoder with ans ESU Loksound 5 , and disable the Pickup Show Switch, the IT Runs without Problems.

Hi Juergen! You need a Märklin CS2 or CS3 + the software RocRail running on a PC. This will give you unlimited possibilities to operate your trains.
