I’ve Been Going To St Rocco Feast In Glen Cove Approximately 17 - 20 Years It’s One Of Wonderful Feasts We Have In The City Of Glen Cove

The feast was initiated by a host of Italian immigrants living with the vicinity of the church. The canvased the local Italian community for donations to sponsor the feast, The residing pastor reluctantly agreed, and the feast was on. The revenue generated went to upgrade the church, and over the years and it has remained as a mainstay.

I Attended the first feast, I believe, but not sure it was in 1957. I had two dollars in my pocket to spend, my first stop was the stall with the 3 steel bottles. Knock them down and win a ceramic jaguar or a doll. The cost 25 cents per throw, after 3 prices the owner told me to get lost and don't come back. I still had a $1.75 left and walked around with my prizes enjoying the feast. Too bad there was no baseball scout around.
