Wouldn't routine fasting achieve the same result by way of natural atophagy? I get it, most of us aren't so good at abstaining from food, but it does seem to have amazing life extension benefits if done on a regular basis.

@@kb030303 Not a fan of Attia. Watching him in interviews is so annoying because he never answers a question directly. He sounds like a politician. I've been doing 18:6 IF for 4 years and a 48 hr fast each month. I've actually added muscle in that time. Muscle loss is not an issue unless you are doing extended fasts and your diet isn't right. I don't go beyond 48 hours, which is more than long enough to trigger autophagy, and I eat a very nutrient dense meal before a 2 day fast.

I started down the rabbit hole of taking biohacking supplements a little over a year ago, fisetin included. One of the recommended (by a number of KZbin proponents) way to dose was a large amount for several consecutive days once a month. But I also take quercetin daily which can also act as a senolytic - a less slash and burn approach, but continuous. So when I ran out I didn't buy more, opting for the kinder gentler approach, lol. However I am considering taking it again, but on an every few months schedule. The last thing I need is a bunch of zombies messin' with my innards. Thoughts?

Are any of these in plants I can grow, especially indoors, since I grow my own salad greens, mini tomatoes, mint, watercress, peppers, etc inside in winter? I have gigantic mustard greens in my outdoor garden and a lot of turnip greens and radish plants. I did freeze several bags of wild blackberries from a 100ft long patch bordering my yard but I had to share those with raccoons, squirrels, possums and birds since it`s the only patch around here. I think those contain quercetin.

A bit of a tease - circumin is another. I do think you should point out the dangers of senoytics - they appear ot be crucial in wound signalling and may be involved in suppressing tumours. There is some reference of one senolytic being withdrawn in the 80s irrc which some cancer patients bled to death. One or two people taking sustained high doses have reported some problems with wound healing.

I recall reading several years ago that fisetin should be cycled in some way. I think there was one protocol that said to dose once or two consecutive days a week, and another that said to take everyday for ??two weeks?? like once per quarter 🤔... Also, fisetin by itself is VERY poorly bioavailable. I think the trick was to take with a compound extracted from either fennel or fenugreek. Can't recall which of the two, but it I know it was a 'fen'. And it also has a synergistic effect when taken with quercitin, which also has senolytic properties

@@Joe_C. I do one 3 day cycle every year at 51 years old. 600mg quercetin+1500mg fisetin+100mg dasatinib. I also add 400mg oleuropein, it's been shown to have a senolytic effect. To tell you the truth I don't know if it is optimal, I don't think anybody really knows what the best dosage and frequency are. So it might be better to err on the side of caution. My 2 cents.

What is the optimal dosage of senolytics? Some people do 2-3 days per months but I fear it is way too much. D, Q, and F don't have very good selectivity so it may kill a lot of good cells, and also killing all the senescent cells may not be the the best thing to do. I do 3 days once per year of D+Q+F but really I have to so say it's a wild guess.
