This video looks and feels like womanhood to me (what it is culturally reduced to, not the inherent nature of it) and the odd comradery that is made with other young girls when you are all partaking in it and enjoying it while feeling unnerved by it, and like something is wrong. It's like the inherent nature of it is actually very wild and free and creative and made for participating in the outside world and connected to intelligence and power. And we are given these pretty enticements that slowly, gradually pull us away from our power, that are cozy and nice at first but slowly become suffocating. Our guts tell us this but we are taught not to trust our guts or emotions. It's this odd eeriness that is so familiar.

Not gonna lie, this gotta be one of my favorites from you so far! Absolutely LOVE the entire production, the outfits, the aesthetics, the incredibly eerie vibe! It left me really wanting to know more about this shop and these dolls, the shopkeeper; what happened in 97?? Why is one section of the shop closed off?? So many cool mysteries! I hope you'll bring these characters back in a future video! Also, I don't know if that was one of your inspirations, but it made me think of my favorite CLAMP's manga, "xxxHolic" - the outfits, the "creepy twin girls", the eerie magical shop and elusive owner; us coming in for the first time but somehow we were "expected" there! Absolutely incredible how this channel has evolved! I still remember how it all started, with a costume in front of a static greenscreen. Meanwhile it looks like a production from a big studio. The props alone must have costed a fortune. Then the technical effort that went in it synchronizing sound and the different recording that were combined into one video! (The porcelain effect when touching the face was mind-blowing.) The only negative point is that these videos now require so much time and effort that she cannot make so many videos as in the past. Now each video is a work of art that I look forward to, even if it's only one video every three months or so. It's simply amazing.

As a fan of Rozen Maiden (a series about living dolls) when I was in school, this gives me so much nostalgia. I'm also reminded of old CLAMP stories, or those indie 70s to 90s mystery/fantasy manga where everything is left to interpretation, and Ali Project songs.
