This channel is criminally underrated!!! the flow of these videos is so fluid and visually exciting to follow. I can't fathom how many hours of effort get condensed into 11 minutes, but I selfishly hope for many more of these to come :D

Good job on making a better thumbnail, I was thinking the reason this great video wasn't getting that much attention was from the first thumbnail! Keep going man I love your content and unique blend of mixed media animation
@MaxwellNichols Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I definitely should've been quicker to change the thumbnail, but I liked the simplicity of the last one. The main issue with this video seems to be the intro. Drags too long, doesn't set the right expectations, loses half the audience first 30sec. Hoping to solve for that in my next video :)

Can't believe I'm only just watching this one now, love all of your videos Max. Also, your editing and scripts have improved considerably! So cool to get to watch something like this that you've put together. Again, keep up the wonderful work!

7:53 This is one of my favorite facts to tell people. I assume you've read the Walter Isaacson biography, too!

Yes! Honestly not sure the Da Vinci tangent suited the video, but I was listening to the audiobook while putting the script together so I couldn't help it

It feels, as both an artist and a recently single man, that the place may in fact determine your ability to engage with creativity and beauty. In the same way that Tinder, o' merciless mistress, helps foster the false belief that people only connect over the internet, it seems that way, especially in a semi-rural area where I am, in regards to art. Is the solution to move to a vibrant yet claustrophobic city or to seek to the ends of your ability local talent, if it exists?

This is beautiful, feels like johnny harris and nathaniel drew had a baby haha

Probably cause half the video uses their music haha (both composed by tom fox) Crazy we both uploaded videos, on the same day, about buildings hosting collaborating artists btw. Wish I thought to pick 368, such an influential group of filmmakers

Could you do something similar about this theory with music such as the Seattle grunge scene, and the west coast/east coast hip hop, Bay Area thrash scene, etc
@MaxwellNichols Жыл бұрын
I'll definitely look into it, there's a ton of examples of these sorts of centralized movements. I might do a video exploring a handful of them and look into why or how they arise yk

Damn, i sometimes forget that clasical art is more than pretentious people talking pretentious things Great video, my man
@MaxwellNichols Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's really a shame. Most artists, especially great ones, are wholly unpretentious and intended their work for the masses. It's the dorks in the art market doing all the gatekeeping. Thanks for watching:)

"The great consort with great" This was a good video, but I felt like this is a bit of a loaded statement. While I agree that we learn from others ideas and are influenced by those around us I don't think that we are only the sum of that.

Sometimes someone with a particular skill or natural talent thinks he can become a master of all trades, and flops miserably. Only a handful of people have been able to do that. Most of them lived during the Renaissance. Hence the term Renaissance Man.
