Since every mobile phone has a camera, everyone can take pictures and so everyone becomes a photographer until they get a DSLR Camera in their hands and have to shoot in manual mode.
In this video I explain and share my knowledge about the aperture
1.The aperture in your camera works the same as the iris in our eyes.
with that you can determine how big the opening of your lens is, and so decide how much light comes to the sensor.
the Aperture on your Screen looks like a F with a Nummer behind.
The Nummer shows you the resistance from your Lens.
that means a high Nummer like F18 or F22 means your Lens is close to closed,
and less light comes to the sensor and the picture gets darker.
2. close to closed, that sounds funny:-)
And a deep Nummer like F2.8 or F1.4 means your Aperture is completely open and a lot of light comes to the sensor of your camera and the picture gets brighter.
3. you choose the aperture depending on the light situation you have,
on the shutter speed you choose before.
or how much blur you want.
4. then what you also need to know about the aperture is, depending on how open your lens is, the greater the blurring effect gets.
That means: with a high aperture like F22, your lens is close to closed and you get NO blur effect and everything in your shot gets in focus.
. I do that for example when I take panoramas.
6. And if you shoot with a deep Aperture around F1.8 you get a high blurry effect and your focus point gets thinner.
Here is my small Trick with the aperture: If you set your camera on A Mode, that means you can choose and fix the Aperture. For example, I set the aperture of F2.8 to always get the same blurry effect.
and the shooter speed will change automatically deepend on the light situation and your settings from the light meter.

For a long time I thought that taking picture took as long as the click sounded. Today I know it a little more precisely and can take pictures with my camera between 1/8000 second and up to 1 minute.
how it works, I will explain it in this video
1. With the Shutter speed you can choose how long you want to take a picture or how long you want to expose an image. shutter speed or exposure? It's the same.
2.How long you expose an image affects how bright or dark the picture will get.
A short exposure means less light comes to the sensor and your image gets darker.
A long exposure means more light comes to the sensor and your image gets brighter.
depending if your object is moving, you have to choose a fast shutter speed to get the desired object sharp. For Example, people who dance, choose a shutter speed faster than 1/320 to get a sharp shot and no motion blur. because what happens when you choose a fast shutter speed. your picture is getting sharper.
3. And here is my 1/320 Rule. If you get on a daily road trip or you shoot on a festival hand-held shoots with your camera, choose the S mode.
Your camera is now in a semi-automatic mode. fix the shutter speed to 1/320 and go to the light meter, to set how bright you want your picture to be. In this way you prevent motion blur, your objects are sharp and your picture is automatically exposed correctly.
But Sometimes you want motion blur, to make your image appear softer.
For example: a river in a landscape, you don’t want to see the water frozen.
if you want to shoot with a longer exposure, use a tripod. The camera is so static and the landscape most too. That allows you long exposure, like five seconds or up to one minute.
---during the day you have to push the aperture up, or use a gray filter that allows you long exposure without that your image gets too bright.
