I did this route in the summer on the way to Mongolia, that road from the border to black market fuel station/ cafe/ hostel/ motorbike parts store really is a route to test your mental endurance 😂

Ciao caro, ti ho scoperto stanotte per caso con lo splendido video sulla Pamir road. Appena ho visto il tuo viso (non sapevo ancora che nazionalità eri) ho pensato che eri ebreo, e anche il tuo accento inglese è influenzato si dall'italiano, ma anche da una lingua mediorientale. Sono rimasto piacevolmente colpito quando ho saputo che sei italo-palestinese...sorpresa perchè sei italiano, estremamente grato e rispettoso del tuo lato palestinese. Hai un modo di viaggiare che mi piace, le vecchie moto. Anni fa feci Salerno-Norvegia con una vecchia Guzzi del 78...precedentemente feci tutta la Russia(e Mongolia-Europa-Balcani) in autostop, autostop è molto piu duro, crudo e vero del motociclismo, ma è forse solo questione di periodi della vita. Ultimamente pianificavo proprio tutti gli Stan Countries con una vecchia Guzzi Alce ma sono ancora troppo attaccato al lavoro. Comunque oltre a farti i miei piu vivi complimenti e auguri, volevo dirti "kak zavud" che, esattamente come lo leggi in italiano, significa "come ti chiami" in russo. Insieme a "udaci" (buona fortuna) sono molto utili. Un abbraccio...forte!

Ciao, grazie delle tue parole e del tempo che hai usato per scrivermi. Credo che sia il momento giusto per fare gli -STAN, prima che vengano usurpati dal turismo di massa che sta purtroppo prendendo piede anche in zone remote. Con una Guzzi Alce sarebbe il Viaggio dei Viaggi, io stesso sogno una BSA M20 o una Norton M18... Non mi ritengo un motociclista, non frequento l'ambiente delle moto, mi piace esplorare le varie forme di viaggio romantico come nei libri degli esploratori del '900. Nel 2010 iniziai con la bicicletta e credo che in futuro la riprenderò. A presto. Davai Za! Alex

@abgd-co4xy you are correct, he changed bikes. Now he is riding a kawasaki 650 twin cylinder air cooled . I do not know why he doesn't ride an off road motorcycle. The bike he has it built for modern streets, not dirt roads.

the W650 is very good bike for road and off road with some modifications, I like to do things out of the box, if you imagine that some people travel the world with R1 or Hayabusa...an what about BSA, is my dream to travel with Bsa M20 or Norton M18. Cheers

Im not sure if you mentioned it, Kara-Kalpak means black hat. White hats are probably the Kyrgyz as their hats are white :) Historically, there were countried named white sheep and black sheep as well :)
