This makes me weep, for all Paul endeavored and realized in Christ Jesus. The journey of sailing throughout the Mediterranean Sea, the constant challenges of presenting the Gospel and even his initial encounter with Christ, going blind for three days...wow. Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. And thank you for making this series of Paul's life, historically. Should be shown on BBC and PBS.

Interesting point you touched on, regarding Paul's still referring to his-self as a Pharisee. I'd long associated them w/evil all throughout their history, learning only lately that the Office of Pharisee, over time, had become corrupted from its original righteous legitimacy.
@mozdickson3 жыл бұрын
Indeed, and I'm not sure what point Con is making there - surely Paul is simply using this as a kind of 'leverage' such as a former Hells Angel, now following Christ, and reaching into that world of blindness and violence, would mention that connection to a/ avoid an immediate beating, and b/ aid passage to 'higher ups' where the gospel proclamation may be more effectual, and impacting. And yes, I've been around ex-biker evangelists. This may seem a ridiculous comparison - but we must remember at that time he was not The Great Saint Paul of the Mighty Christian Church worldwide, he was simply an "errant" and atypical Jew, who had become a leader in marginal sect. Context is everything in interpreting the historical narratives within scripture. I love this series; I love Con's approach, and having lived and studied a good few years in Australia, and worked alongside Kastelorizos (?!), I thank God for raising him him up - and pray that he would be particularly effective and impactful amongst the wonderful Greek Australians! May God bless and inspire everyone watching these expositions.

If Paul and Christ had not been killed for their beliefs, there would be no Christianity. Jesus told Christians to pray for God's Kingdom to come and for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. God's Kingdom is a heavenly government ruled by Jesus Christ as King. Soon Jesus as King of kings will bring beautiful changes to the earth. There will be no more death, pain or sorrow on earth, Revelation 21:4,5. No more wickedness on earth, Psalms 37:9-11; John 3:16. The righteous hearted meek ones will inherit the earth and live forever on earth, Psalms 37:29; Matthew 5:5; Proverbs 2:21,22. The earth will be cultivated into a Paradise like God intended in the beginning, Genesis 1:28; Isaiah 55:11. Jesus will do on a grand scale what he did when he walked the earth including raising those who are asleep in death, John 5:28,29. Jesus said that this good news of the Kingdom would be preached about in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come, Matthew 24:14, the end of men ruling over men, Daniel 2:44. Jesus taught his disciples how to accomplish the preaching of the good news of the Kingdom, Acts 20:20; 5:42. Soon Jesus as King of kings will bring about God's will on earth as it is in heaven, Matthew 6:10. Hallelujah!
