Dan…Nathan H. here. I LOVE seeing the new features and the way you are developing the platform. Should we wait to import our TY23 files for any other new updates before year end…or will any updates continually be applied to pre-existing clients within StanfordTax?

Hi Nathan! All new updates will be applied to clients which have already been added.

Which is a good tax intake app that works with Canadian taxprep software? Our existing software can pull slips directly from the Revenue Service online and prepopulate the tax return, but would like automation/checklist function for the other stuff like rental/medical/child care etc

can you suggest document management software? We need something where once a person reviews a document and inputs the numbers in the tax software, we can stamp the document signifying its done. If that makes sense.

@@kgtstudios4850 you could use Adobe Pro stamps to do that. If you're just looking for a uniform way to mark items done. Could also change file names once an item is complete.

Honestly the doc mgmt space kind of sucks right now. I don't have a great solution, but discussed the problem more in depth here if it's helpful kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKSmmIWarMR_r7ssi=Fjw_wwW00tcZE6Cm

Very compelling solution. I signed up, only to discover “The integration for ProConnect is coming soon.” Since Stanford relies on tax data backup files, which cloud-based ProConnect doesn’t have, is support REALLY coming soon?

Hi Paul, Dan here from StanfordTax:) Just wanted to let you know we're opening that up tomorrow (the integration for ProConnect uses the Lacerte data file which you can request from your account manager at ProConnect - we'll be providing the instructions)

Im wondering if anyone has used the ProSeries native tax intake/organizer. It comes with the software package, so I was going to use that this year. Not sure if its worth it to pay for Stanford Tax if ProSeries will do something essentially the same.

He covers this in the video. Not specifically ProSeries, but the same limitations apply. Test them both and figure out if the money is worth it to save time by having software manage all that for you.

@katherinemyers2024 I watched the video. I also watched his videos where Jason has said to ask in the comments for social proof from people who have done both and get the benefit of their mistakes. The salesperson for ProSeries believes their online organizer is very similar functionality to the Stanford Tax one. So it would be nice to see if someone has tried both. I'll do a test run of the ProSeries one this week and see for myself, but I was asking in case someone else has experience with it.

@@LightemupWMH I personally never take a sales persons’ thoughts and always test myself. At the end of the day, they make money if you purchase and likely won’t see you again after you sign up. Unfortunately, I do not have experience with both to help, but from what I’ve heard ProSeries does not do follow-ups nor do they “read” and organize the documents for you based on what it includes. I additionally don’t believe it can handle a bundle and separate according to type, however, it’s been about 9 years since I was in ProSeries and haven’t heard great things about the portal since. However, I agree to definitely test it yourself and find out 😊 because everyone’s needs are different!
