The prisoner's dilemma doesn't take into consideration the increased chance of a prison shanking for being a rat.

So much quallity content... This channel is awesome, very informative. Even things that are presented in a boring way by teachers, here are presented so interesting. It can also make you want to study those, or feel bad if you did study and you no longer know, or never knew. Keep what are you doing. Total support from me.

Anyone that knows for sure please answer this question. If I major in “electrical engineering and computer science” will I be learning a little bit of each or will I learn as much as an ee major and a cs major combined?
@Financial_Revolution6 жыл бұрын
U should look up the courses and I am pretty sure that’s the best way u will get the answer.

I'm thinking to focus in data science. It will be really helpful if you can make a video about the curriculum, job availability, skills required, and entry level about data science.

12:30 notice that this would technically mean that the police in this dilemma are also making criminals more than actually having civilians go rightfully free if this is always the case. because no matter what it is *better* to RAT on your 'co-conspirator' rather than to tell the truth... happens a lot in communism. also this might be able to be used in a court case to make actual criminals or civies go free in America for the unfair approach... though I am not a lawyer and wouldn't know how that would go. Hope you have a great day & Safe Travels!

hey, my current individual project is on a robot trying to go around randomly in a room with lights on and taking LDR data in % and trying to record LDR % data on several locations then try to go to the location with the highest LDR reading in % (hence reaching the location with the brightest LDR reading). I think it is quite similar to the problem you talked about in the video, does anyone have any better algorithm for this situation? Thanks for helping

No O(n) for sorting you say. Try a quantum bogo sort
@zachstar6 жыл бұрын
Haha I just looked that up. Great algorithm
@MASTERISHABH6 жыл бұрын
Well that's a joke algorithm. Error rates are too high. Why risk using that if we can truly rely on merge sort.
@TheMatoniss6 жыл бұрын
If you have the marry problem is there an algorithm for picking the average best ? Meaning we assign value to the algorithm based on (sum of all presonPlace)/number of choosing. Is there a better alogritm than choosing at random ?

Is the problem with 3 dates where you have a 50% chance algorithmically effectively the same as the Monty Hall Problem?
@kennethkrist3 жыл бұрын
Well no, but with a tiny change yes. For starters Monty Hall has a 67% success rate compared to the 50% of the 3-date problem. The reason they differ is as follows: The first date / door is fairly similar, in both cases there's a 33% chance of the first one being the best choice, in which case you will lose. But if the first date/door is not the best choice, Monty hall is a 100% win, while the date is now a 75% win. In other words, date total is 67% * 75% = 50% while MH is 67% * 100%. But the difference between the two could be removed in the dating problem if someone sorted the last two dates for you such that the 2nd date was the better one of the last two. This is essentially what the program host in Monty Hall does. He sorts out the bad one of the remaining two, and reveals the goat, as if your dating service revealed a goat on the 3rd date, ensuring the car would be on the 2nd one.

Great video! Can you make a video called "What you will learn each year in computer science" where for example you would say "after 2 years you learn basic decision making algorithms. After 4 years you learn basic artificial intelligence. After 6 years you learn advanced ai" also you could do this for any other engineering major (preferably electrical engineering and computer science) Im sure a lot of people would be intrested in learning this. Thx

What about the sorting algirithm that stores the correct position of an intiture than puts them in the correct order by the first time, its memory inefficient but i think time efficient idk i'm in my first year of college at computer science and so far i've learned 4 sorting algorithms: direct sort, insertion, buble sort, and this sorting algorithm that i told you, srry for my bad english

The best algorithm will help us find out who makes the most climate damage. From CEO's to the everyday people who may just save for holidays abroad… If people ere dumb enough to buy shares in power companies that are not sustainable, they should confiscate ALL oil and gas companies around the world… If Governments owned all the profits, they wouldn't have to pay shareholders…just spend all profits on research and building infrastructure that lasts… also every device that doesn't pass (for example) Amazons Longevity test should help… overengineer products like when the Empire State Building water pumps were made…if one breaks they simply fix it as they are too afraid to replace them with products with tolerances that are designed to break… Another algorithm CEO killer… China would go out of business probably as every pair of socks I buy from Amazon are too breakable to even bother darning…
