I liked how when Martha lectured Chuck, Dawn and Jim about quitting when they were in the boardroom she used as an example when she was in jail (and was finishing up a home arrest sentence during part of the taping) even though it was well known she had served a prison sentence that instead of giving up she made the best of a bad situation (even though it was of her own making). This humanized her more, showing that no one is perfect, that the lesson was to persevere and to carry on.

Wow, "The Apprentice" was one of my guilty pleasures but never saw the Martha version, and have to say it would have just been a pleasure. IMHO Martha was someone I would hope to work for (someone I would feel would be as much a mentor as a good name on the resume) and as a host much more caring/fair. Line of the moment in show 2 says it all "sometimes winning isn't about getting, sometimes the reward is giving" paraphrased

Not to mention also a much more caring and just employer. I fondly remember seeing this version designed to be for just one season (a shame!) and liked it MUCH better than the then current season (4th season) of the other series.

@@scouser2010ify Agree - he gives people named Jim a bad name which especially annoys me since my late Dad was named Jim, I had a mechanic and a hairdresser both named Jim and none of them were anything like this jerk. He's aiming to be the male Omarosa of this series - and even she's more honorable than Jim is. Probably this series was edited in some way to keep Jim on: for ratings purposes - probably the same way the big O was in part kept on as long as she was during DT's first season, why he invited her to appear on 2 of his Celebrity Apprentice seasons and to for a time work for him in the WH.

And he did a great job helping to salvage the day - initially Primarius had their flowers marked much too high IMO. Thankfully he convinced PM Carrie to reduce the prices somewhat which finally got the displays moving, enabling Carrie to carry out the task very well - and to get a give back to a disadvantaged community a labor of love in making a lovely garden as their reward.

I thought Chuck was quite good as a leader. He took responsibility for the loss, he adressed the weakest link of the team, he wasn't trying to manipulate or talk down to his team members. He was decent. Although, I have supported the corporate group since it was formed, so this may have been a win for them.
@alexisdiva92 жыл бұрын
Agree but early on in this episode when the going got tough he not only wanted to quit as PM but in the competition as well. Jim talked him out of it BUT the super shark that he is planned to later use that as ammo against Chuck - which he did in the boardroom.

Here's the Matchstick's problems with this task: they put all of their eggs in one basket by selling just tulips even though they were imported. Also, for once, toxic Jim had a good suggestion: invest $4 to $6 in brass cleaner for the inside door handles - even though the door would be opened and closed all day, appearances make an impression and may make a difference - sadly, the team ignored that suggestion since Jim was already being (usually rightfully) hated. Am trying to figure out which ladies soliciting looked more like hookers: the ones dressed in black at night hanging out flyers or the ones dressed like Dutch girls trying to lead people into the store but where they were was not helpful in finding the store.

Probably the latter - and it may have been part of the reason they initially over inflated the cost of their bouquets. Initially, he was reluctant to work with them since he thought they were a fly-by-night company (technically they were since it would only exist during this 13 week competition). Wonder if it would have helped or hurt in their pitch that they were connected with Martha (especially since she was still finishing her 5 months house arrest during the taping), assuming that was not against the rules?
