"Some people love to redraw all the lines" is this song about gerrymandering?

No its followed by how those people are willing to change and evolve. Redrawing the lines is a phrase to say progress, not remaining stagnant, willing to move forward and alter our perceptions and goalposts appropriately to the facts of life on display. Which is why the next line about the "other people" is about them being "deathly allergic to change" and how they want to keep everything the same and in its place.

Great song with good points. But also dangerous. It reminds me too much of people in 2016, determined to hang on to voting for Bernie Sanders even after Bernie pleaded with them to vote for Clinton... and that helped put Trump in office. I wish things were different. I also don't want to see friends forced to move out of the country or to another state, the endangered species act repealed or medicare killed. This song should have come out 15 years ago. Now, it's like hoping for an alternative peace in Europe in 1943.

Well, this song is meant to be a reminder to the people leaning toward the side of f@scism that we are people too, and that pretending we aren't is only going to hurt us all. It encourages looking at all the information we're given and learning to look past our biased. Yeah, it definitely has a message of "good neighbors put up with their differences," but it's not telling people to go out and hug the neighbor who's at the door with a rifle ready to shoot them.
