Her accidentally killing Silco confirmed she’s a Jinx in her mind. It seems with almost everyone she loves she kills them so sadly Mylo was right, she’s a jinx. Also, I find Silco’s death heartbreaking, he made sure she knew he loved her and that he didn’t blame her. He didn’t want to be one of her demons.

@@lolyungmulaBABY oh I’m not saying he’s a good father at all! No one should expect him to be because unlike Vander he’s not a caring man by any means. However, at the time of Vi “abandoning” Powder he is who she needed because she would’ve became Jinx with or without Silco. I feel like if she didn’t have anyone she would’ve turned out way worse, Silco at least gave her comfort and love in his own way. It’s clear she trusted and loved him, he knew about how her family and friends were tormenting her mind and tried to help her in what way helped him (the whole baptism scene). Sure it didn’t work for long because she found out Vi was still alive but it did for a moment and she seemed content during that period. He was her person after Vi was gone and was important to her. Sometimes you can love someone dearly and still be incredibly toxic to them.

RUKIYA, IF YOU'RE HERE; STOP READING This show has possibly been the first contact for people who are not invested in LoL and/or don't enjoy playing the game. But this isn't just about the characters one knows as a LoL player. And let's be honest here, that game is not for everyone and it wasn't really story driven, originally. This show is giving the game what it was missing for me to be even remotely interesting. Also: Caitlyns mom appears in future comics , so it appears she doesn't die. What I'm wondering is: - Who dies? Mel? The other counselors? - What will Ecco and Heimerdinger do and how will their relationship unfold? - How will Caith & Vi handle the situation? - How will Jace handle the situation? - What will happen to the hexcore? - Who is the man Momma Medarda was talking about and how will he get involved? - How will Momma Medarda handle the fact that she probably doesn't have an heir anymore, assuming her son and daughter were her only children. (Tho who knows how much she effed around, eh? *wink wink*) - Who's gonna take care of Zaun now? - Who's gonna take care of Piltover? - Where is Jinx gonna hide out? - How is Warwick gonna enter the scene? - What is Singeds' plan? Where is his daughter or rather what happened to her? Those and many more are questions that people have and that the game doesn't necessarily answer and if it does, it doesn't tell it as well as this show has done. There is a reason why people love these 9 episodes but aren't very hyped for the rest. The comics are neat. The game? Annoyed the heck out of me. So yes, this is still a cliffhanger for many who aren't as involved as veteran gamers or absolute fans who've been hooked from the start. And sometimes this form of media is more entertaining for some than others.

Another level of depth to the Boy Savior Jinx/Ekko fight: it's been established in the game that ekko had a crush on powder when they were kids. (In League, he has a voice line saying "I had a crush, until you started talking to the gun." and in Legends of Runeterra, "I miss you so much.") When he hesitates in killing her, it's because he once again sees the girl he loved-the vulnerable, brilliant, quirky Powder laying beneath him, bloody from his hands. But it's clearly not Powder anymore and Jinx does not hesitate to take advantage of Ekko's moment of weakness. This information just makes the fight scene all the more painful💔 You can see young Ekko and Powder's bond more clearly in the music video for Enemy, which features animations and a story from the production company that wasn't in the show.

I watched the music video after this reaction and I loved seeing Ekko and Powders' friendship since it wasn’t shown much in the show. But I didn’t know he had a crush on her. 😭 Both characters are so smart and strong, they would have been able to do great things for the Undercity together.

I am just realizing this.. Vi: “..you can't talk to him. He hates you and everything you stand for..” Kinda she's talking more about how she feels, not Silco. Based on Silco's personality.. he is always willing to talk it out first (if handed the opportunity) and then strike based on how that talk went. Vi's the one who always seem to punch first and ask questions while punching.. just like Ekko implied.

Vi's nature of jumping into things plays a relevant role in the story and multiple characters point it out.

I used to ruminate on all the things that "turned" Powder into Jinx...but the more I marinate on it ....the more I've come to understand ...she was always Jinx. She just had to grow up into herself and accept it. She just needed the passage of time. Jinx was always her true identity. Holding onto Powder was fighting against her nature. Powder was always unsure of herself and lacked confidence. Jinx was confident and precise. As Silco correctly called it, Jinx is perfect (if perfectly corrupted, but perfect none the less). Each and every one of us are products of our environment. To pretend otherwise is just adding more trauma to deal with later. Pretending she is still Powder is like pretending gravity won't pull you off the roof of a building--you can't resist nature for long, it always wins or you will suffer endlessly fighting against it. Look at how after Silco died, and she fully assumed the Jinx persona ...she was calm. She stopped second guessing and questioning her decisions. She let go of her fear. Her fear of the past. Her fear of the present. Her fear of her own future. She became who she was always in the process of growing up to be. This isn't how I wanted it to be, but it's how I've come to understand it objectively. And now that I've accepted it, I don't feel bad or sad for her anymore. She doesn't have to fight herself anymore. Powder can no longer hold Jinx back. She is Jinx.

@@_FirstLast_ You see echos of Jinx all the way back in the opening of episode one where the scratch marks appear on the guards faces. She was clearly already suffering from visual hallucinations. She also had very little empathy for death and had to check with Vi if she was supposed to be sad. She literally tried to nail bomb a kid. In episode three her separation anxiety was on full display. And when she noticed that she killed her family she wasn't upset about their deaths, she was upset that Vi was mad at her. You are right. She was always Jinx.

I love how at 37:39 when Silco says "You're perfect" it reflects what he said in, what, Episode 4? 5? when he said "Jinx is Perfect", he is saying "you are Jinx and you are perfect". His last words to Jinx were to comfort and confirm her identity to her, however subconsciously it was meant to be.

I don't believe he truly loved or cared for Jinx. I believe he cared for her since he was able to mold her into his “perfect human”. A father wouldn't manipulate, emotionally abuse and isolate a child he truly loved. Vander and Vi’s is what I think a realistic and healthy father-daughter relationship is. Silco and Jinx are the opposite since it's fueled by revenge, has extreme dependency, etc.

When Jinx talked about having flashbacks of Vi Silco told her to take time off to care of herself. I agree. He truly loved Jinx but his love was corrupt because he himself was too far gone with his mission and his own trauma which he projected onto Jinx. He was so much in his own mindset that he probably didn’t even realized how he manipulated her and made her mental illness even worse, at least later, I do believe he manipulated her intentionally in the beginning. But he was so far gone that he didn’t even know how to love in a „healthy“ way

She constantly caused trouble and headaches for him because she was constantly just a little out of his control, a little unpredictable, a little on edge. He was a deeply troubled person who saw his own trauma reflected in her, and unfortunately it caused him to project it on her as well - "Vi (Vander) will never accept you (me)", etc. He loved Jinx though, of that there is no doubt. His literal dying breath and he just wanted to comfort her and tell her he loved her. It wasn't healthy but you can't say there wasn't love. Just look at his office - she scribbled all over his roof, his ash tray, his mug... she has her own special cup in the club downstairs. He allowed her to decorate his rafters with explosives cause that's her hangout spot.

My favorite little fun fact about the bridge scene is how when Jinx opens fire on Vi and Cait, Vi tries to shield Cait but Cait pushes Vi and herself out of the way. Perfectly shows what kind of people they are. Vi cares about protecting others and is willing to die to do so. Cait cares about protecting others but will look for both the most logical way to do it and the way that saves the most lives.

Wait i just realized something. In the show vi says powders good with her gadgets which are technology. And vi gift is fighting which is her physical strength. Vi is pink and jinx is blue. When vi gets hextech golves which are technology jinx gets shemer which inhances you're physical skills. Hextech is blue shemer is pink. A little bit of powder exist in vi and little bit of vi exists in power. Like yin and yang. Also vi wearing the hextech can remind vi how powder used to be and shemer can mean powder finally became strong like her hero.😊

@@RukiyaReacts also if you notice in the past episode jinx is always on high alert trying to avoid death. But in the scene in episode 7 when ekkos is on top of her, her face relaxes and smiles. She doesn’t move away from the bom she stays right under ekko, like she wanted to die. Jinx has been dealing with trama for years and by her self. Most people think about actually committing suicide. The fight between ekko and jinx was the same play fight they did when they were kids so it must have been a nostalgic moment for her. So why not die in the arms of her childhood best friend? Plus in the game it was mentioned that ekko had a crush on powder when they were kids. And the arcane enemy music video shows there were a lot of scenes of ekko and powder together as kids.

Silco definitely cares about Jinx but he's also pretty clearly projecting his own betrayal onto her and is helping her process the way he did - trusting no one else ever again. Unfortunately, as much as Vi loved her sister, she also held her to a standard that she just couldn't perform and it made her feel like an outsider. Silco accepted her despite everything.

You were **on** it when you were first talking about Silco's sort-of love of Jinx. He said in the second episode "There's a monster inside all of us" alluding to what he believes is the Real Authentic person. When Powder first jumped into his arms and expressed her hurt towards her sister, he saw the makings of exactly what he could encourage and mold into his vision of a real person. His desperation to keep Vi from getting to his precious Jinx was a fight to protect the grooming he had put her through in order to make someone else mirror his own damage. If she were saved when he refused to ever be... He could not accept that possibility. He had to kill Vi before she could pull Powder out of the monster he created. Notice how Jinx blames Vi for her new identity in a similar manner to how Silco blamed Vander for his own psychosis? Also, everyone's always wondering why the Council is throwing their tantrum when told they'll lose control of the undercity, but of course they're upset, they're living luxury because they can exploit people that far down the totem pole Monarchs can't enjoy their castle without peasants to exploit

This series is a masterpiece thus far; the use of dyadic relationships is mind blowing. There are always duos and full circle moments. In addition, the way the series shows and does not tell with exposition is refreshing and it makes me very happy. Furthermore, when trying to locate the bad guy it becomes evident, there is no true bad guy just complex characters with shades of grey. I love this show so much. I think he cared and loved her for sure. He was just teaching her how to cope, like he did when Vander betrayed him. He let his old self die and he became(in his eyes) better, stronger. He thinks that going back will just make you hurt more. Was there manipulation there sure, but he thought it was what was best for her, because it worked for him.

Your perception of why Silco cared about Jinx was something i actually hadn't heard of before but actually made me think. It is true , Silco's attraction to Jinx wasn't coming from a true place of love, although i believe he did end up loving her. But as you said, he loved the version of Jinx that he had molded and created and the version of Jinx that he saw himself in. His feelings were true but not because he wanted the best for Jinx/Powder but because he loved the version of Jinx that he had created. "Jinx is perfect" , "you are perfect". If at any point Jinx would have rejected that i believe he would have quickly considered her just another person who betrayed him and the feelings he had for her would turn negative really quickly. That was actually a very nice perspective on it girl!

Episode 7: the bridge fight between Ekko and Jinx is amazing and open to interpretation. Here is how I interpret it. We start with both of them having childhood flashbacks to a similar game they used to play. This brings the tragedy of two former friends fighting (Ekko used to have a crush on her), but also shows us something about the characters. Both of these characters are extremely intelligent and competent engineers, but Jinx is more arrogant and ruthless. She reviews those past fights, remembers that she won, and is confident she will win again. Ekko reviews those same memories, and uses those memories to figure out what he could have done differently. Then the memories “rewind” back to the starting position, hinting at a power Ekko will have after he invents a certain device, then the actual fight plays out very quickly, and Ekko wins because he made better use of those memories, but then he remembers that they used to be friends and pauses at the worst time, which she exploits because she is more ruthless. --- Vi is voiced by Hailey Steinfeld, who also played Kate Bishop in Hawkeye and Spider-Gwen in Into the Spider-Verse. She is killing it in multiple franchises. Sky’s death hit hard. Here is one of the real tragedies of this show: Ekko is the ideal revolutionary leader for the Undercity, but because the chem lords are willing to get people addicted to shimmer, they have all the power.

I think that scene where Vi tries to convince Jinx by telling her to remember her old family kinda shows that Silco knew her better then Vi did. Her old family is scary to her, they aren't faces of encouragement or friendly-ness to Jinx, they are sneering, judging, scary faces. Silco knew that, and hated how Vi was scaring her.

7:10 I definitely appreciate that it's a more nuanced take on Jinx and Silco's relationship than what most people give. However, it's rather a moot point overall. Ultimately, *everyone* exists solely as an "image" in the mind of everyone else. You can never really know the internal processes of anyone, even someone you've known your whole life, so you can only love the image you've created in your mind of that person. Yes, everyone believes that they love someone no matter what, but you can only ever love someone for the image you have of that person. Vi thought she would love Powder no matter what, but when she accidentally killed their entire family she succombed to her anger and turned on Powder when she needed her most. And ultimately, both Silco and Vi love a version of Jinx/Powder. The problem is that Vi's version of Powder no longer exists, while Silco's is closer to the "real" Jinx.

A bit of speculation on who will live and die in the Council Chamber: I think Caitlyn's mom will definitely die. So will Mel (or she will be gravely injured) - the potential for drama from Mel's Mom reacting to Mel getting hurt is just too great to pass up, I think. Mel was literally the closest person to the point of impact, sitting directly in front of the window where the blast happened - the only way she'll survive is through some ridiculous deux ex machina (some have suggested her golden jewelry is a hint at an item in game that supposedly could make her invulnerable or something... but since that's not established at all within the series own lore, that seems extremely far fetched to me). Jayce and Viktor will most likely survive, as their character arcs remain incomplete (and they are both champions from the game) - my guess is that Viktor's use of the Hexcore will somehow save them - and perhaps convince Viktor to keep using it, despite it being dangerous, luring him down a dark path... Again, the potential for drama seems too great to ignore. As to the other councilors, they will all probably die, as none of them are really that important to the story - and conveniently, Heimerdinger being voted off the Council might just have saved his life.

His own Brother betrayed him, while they were fighting for the betterment of the people, who were forced to slave away in mining fissures, where the air was so bad that breathing became a workout. It must have been extremely hard for him to find anybody he could trust after that. He must have felt so lonely these years, that he clung onto Jinx, who he saw so much of himself in. He needed her just as much, if not even more than Powder needed him. I don't think anything Silco did was good. No he was a villain through and through, but I do pity him as well. I wonder, if Vander and Silco could have been both keeping the undercity safe together in a different time line :/

Late but I will say I think you're half right about how Silco feels about Jinx. He does idolise her, but not the way you're thinking. People assume he made Jinx but he didn't. I mean think about it, if he really moulded her would she be this chaotic and clumsy and unpredictable? He's nothing like that. If he really wanted to mold her into being perfect she wouldn't be like that. But that's how she is, and he thinks she's perfect how she is, however that may be. He said Jinx was perfect because that's who she wanted to be, and to him that's enough even if she is dangerous, and messes things up for him he loves her as she is and however she wants to be. He does want what's best for her, specifically what HE thinks is best for her. But considering how messed up of an individual he is, what he thinks is best is not necessarily always best, not always terrible either, but not always the best or even good. If he was making the perfect little soldier to love he wouldn't have let her grafitti his office and stuff. But that's a sign of who she is, he loves her influence just how she is. He didn't make Jinx and then love Jinx. He allowed Powder to be who she wanted, and that became Jinx. He didn't love Jinx because he made Jinx, cause again, he didn't, he loved Jinx because he loved _her_ no matter what and that's who she wanted to be. That plays into an issue she has with Vi, where she feels like Vi loves a part of her that's dead and not who she currently is. But she acknowledges Silco would love her in any scenario, which further drove her away from Vi.

I'd also recommend watching the Tales of Runeterra series here on YT, it's a bunch of shorts who expand on the world of Arcane (Runeterra) focusing on various regions and characters. don't worry it's nothing spoiler-y!! majority of them are not even focused on Piltover, but they're really fun and also short enough for it to not get tiring. it's a nice way to understand the dimension of this universe, while getting to know the different races, gods, creatures, that exist in it. it'd be really fun to see your takes on them ^^ and ofc thx for this 3-part series! you picked up on so many details, it's always nice to accompany smart reactors experiencing Arcane for the first time!

I don't know how much you know about the extended universe now, but I think Sevika might be Arcane's version of a champion called Renata. Apart from that, Singed is the one i'm most interesting in finding out more about, he has been lowkey MVP of season 1, with nothing that happen in it being possible without his existence.

I swear people see an older man and a young girl and automatically label it a father-daughter relationship. Silco and Jinx’s dynamic is very toxic and hard to watch in many scenes. Especially when she's having an emotional meltdown and all he said was, “I'm the only family you got” “Everyone betrays us” and “You have to finish the weapon”. Like Sir, she’s clearly distress, forget about the stupid weapon 🙄. He's isolating her and making her dependent only on him so that she will stay his “perfect Jinx”. Very unhealthy and abusive relationship they have
