Although the movie felt rushed near the end, I still loved this movie. This is how companies like Disney SHOULD make modern diverse characters without centering it the spotlight of attention. When the schoolgirl accidentally misgendered roaul , for once it was a nice touch of realism that wasn’t sugarcoated in self-awareness.

I loved the stop motion animation. Gorgeous! My ONLY complaint was that it was a movie, not a series. I felt like there was SO MUCH squeezed into such a short time, I wanted more buildup and development. I could definitely see the hell maiden and her demons trying to fix things in the town and making things WAY worse before fixing them lol

I have Netflix and this movie didn't get on my radar somehow, they should cut you a check you promoted it better than them, i like stop motion animation too like Coraline as you said and Nightmare before Christmas. Kids definitely get institutionalized regardless of what's happening at home unfortunately, saw it growing up. This movie looks interesting

When a car is under water like that the doors won't open unless it's an old model I believe. I know they tell you to go out the window or wait for the car fill up for the door to unlock. The mom was too big to fix out the window and probably couldn't swim. She lied so Kat wouldn't die trying to save them

All the promotion was done in October. I'm a stop motion Animator so I was instantly excited. They did do a lot of promoting about it though. Even when you logged into Netflix around that time it was the first video being advertised. It was even being advertised on KZbin. I think it's an algorithm thing though. Most of the thing I watch it stop motion so I saw all the ads.

I found out about this movie 2 days before it was released on Netflix. Being a sucker for stop-motion, I was interested and wanted to see what it would be like. I freaking love this movie (the brothers are definitely my favorite characters) and it should’ve gotten more attention than it was given. Netflix really sucks when it comes to announcing animated movies.

If u look through the names of all the people who made the movie, in the part where ur falling through a hole of bones, u will see jack skellington because Henry selick was also the producer and director for nightmare before Christmas :)

For me it was good, but it could've been amazing FOR ME if they focused more on our main girl and less than the demons the obvious comic relief that this movie is named after. The I "SWEAR IT" scene showed so much potential. Just a tad bit darker, focusing on Kat and her past n experience in jail and how desperately she feels like she needs her parents would be great for me. Make the demons funny sometimes but mostly dangerous would've been great not to say it had to be stereotypical, but to say they actually have more power than they're letting on like what they showed when they were angry. Just give me more. But this movie is otherwise alright. That's just me so far

The movie is made with “to much plot” for the returning viewer. The first wach is extreme but second+ viewing is amazing and new all over. There are so many little plot points that get missed the first few times you wach it, but keep rewaching to put the bigger picture together. Example: the 2headed worm was the hold Klaxcorp had on the town when her parents were alive as when she comes back there’s a 2headed dragon controlling the town. Along with missing context for things people say in first viewing.

The way this movie didn't get more buzz is insane to me. Black cast and crew, a black main character with alt style (alt is already pretty rare unless for comic relief but POC alternative characters are even rarer), a trans character with actual relevance in the story, native representation, evil white people, demons. It's got all the right ingredients for a killer movie

The reason why the mom did not get out the cars because the dad was knocked out in the car and she had saved him but or he would die Also, the reason why the dad was knocked out because he got impact because he slammed into the wheel as the car was slamming into a fence and dropping into the water. So the mum had to go save him, but then she was too late and she drowned as well as the dad when he was knocked out so thats why the mum did not get out the car.
