My godmother was from Merida state in Venezuela (in the Andes) and when i was a kid she added wheat to the arinapan and made the arepas very very flat. I really miss her.

Esta Colombiana appreciates your time so much. I share the deep desire to master the glorious Arepa - been working on Combining the best of our Risaralda/Caldas version with the yummy caleña and the Boyaca -- still in progress. I would suggest kindly that you consider shortening these videos. Just a gentle request. A 4m intro is long and considering the video total was almost 21m and you only show 1 recipe, truly there is a big opportunity in editing. Again, thank you for all you do. Viva Colombia! 💛💛💙❤️

I would just suggest kindly that you consider shortening your gentle requests. The ten word intro could surely be trimmed and considering the complaint was 41 words long and you only make one point, truly there is a big opportunity in exiting. again, thank you for all you do!

Help! Mine are always doughy in the middle. Thanks for taking the time to show us all the way through!
@ArepasDelGringo7 жыл бұрын
+cheryl clark thanks for watching! I would suggest keeping them a bit longer on the heat, you can cover them with a lid while they cook if you use a pan - and when they come off the heat you can put them on a plate with some tinfoil. Make sure to make it air tight. This way they can cook a bit longer without burning. It is ok for them to be a bit soft on the inside but not too mushy. Let me know how they come out if you make them again!

Have you tried them with coconut oil instead of butter? Don’t know if I wanna try! I’m going to make them for tomorrow’s breakfast for my kids (first time) Can’t wait!
@ArepasDelGringo6 жыл бұрын
How did they come out? I think coconut oil would work just fine. Instead of butter olive oil/vegetable oil is often used.
@vanpak6 жыл бұрын
ArepasDelGringo I didn’t try!! I mean, not with coconut oil! Got afraid it wouldn’t work! Second time I made them the easy way, the recipe on the package, just added water and salt! I liked them, I fell it’s kind of our Brazilian cheese bread... something very popular, home made, and yummy!!

Although, it is a simple arepa, it has its a technique, textures and taste therefore, your video was very constructive.

Wish I knew about the milk and butter! I just made them using the plain water and white Pan. Next time buddy thank you!
@wismarmartinez76003 жыл бұрын
In Different region of Venezuela people make the arepas in different ways. I normally just use water and add salt fist. Then a little bit of milk and last add the arina pan.
@msgypsyqueen5 жыл бұрын
I agree with the general constructive criticism - less is more. The end result is beautiful, but does not require a 21-minute road to get there. However, THANKYOU!! 🤓👍

I have to bring up the sound on my phone because you don't have a mic or you have a bad mic. Invest in good recording system. Also, the camera is far away from you.
