Their music is written. Not as loose as you think. They have several albums out. Each features three songs written by each of them. They write toward the strengths of the others. All very deliberately challenging one another to leverage the sum of their ridiculous talents. I’d love to see your response to Marco’s composition entitled “Blues Fuckers”. The drum solo is jaw dropping.

Exuberant. That's the word that comes to mind when I hear these guys play. It's always good to see artists enjoy themselves. Adds to the music for me. Makes it genuine. Jazz fusion is alive and well.

I love this band as well as Guthrie's solo work. He's just one whose playing can only be described as "tasty". Jeff Beck is another notable inclusion in that category. Every style he plays is just dripping with musical flavor. LOL

Around once a year, Guthrie gets together with his original band, The Fellowship, to play in a little club called The Bassment, in his home town of Chelmsford. I've been to see him dozens of times. If you buy him beer, he will even talk to you. The line-up usually includes some epic musicians in their own right. Zak Barratt on sax, Pete Riley on drums, and Guthrie's brother Seth on bass. Huh! Coming in from the Erotic Cakes video, I didn't expect this piece to sound so... normal. Much less of zappaesque oddity. This bridges the gap between usual jazz fusion and Satriani. I respect the talent but compositionally speaking it's not really my thing.

Jim, love your music choices. Please, try a band called Gorod and their song "Transcendence", it's one of the most unique progressive songs that you can find. Cheers! Also, there is a band called Exist, you can try songs "Take My Picture" or "Happily Ever After", it's also jazz fusion. beautiful band too.

Hello Jim!! How have you been doing? It's been a while!! You know, I was just wondering if you still going to do Nightwish again someday, because I have an amazing song and performance in mind!! This song is something that I have missed more or less so far because it is from one of their earliest albums. Jim.. You're next Tool song I would without question recommend is "Pushit" but from the Salival album which is LIVE and fucking amazing! I promise out of all your requests Tool or not, this will be one of the Greatest songs you ever experience, because that's the best way to put it, it's an amazing experience.. but make sure you listen to the one from Salival album and not the from the Lateralus album.. Huge difference.. it will be one the best live songs you will ever hear.. 👍
