You were praising Torey a week ago and he should be the manager of the year. Injuries will always be an excuse. I don’t think Torey will be fired. The guys like him too much.

Right this dude is quick to jump ship and even faster at saying how good the team is ..... be real 😂

Their pitching is abysmal, namely, the bullpen. How can that be rectified before the postseason, if they even make it there? It is far from a slam dunk. With their bullpen they'll be lucky to get into the division series. Besides Puk and Gink you have a bunch of shaky chumps who have no concept of run prevention. If a bullpen can't consistently protect a 2 or 1 run lead it is a sub-average pen.

@@scottmac3539 at some point you just have to hope for regression to the mean. What’s the chances that this is the worst year in the last few for all of Gallen, Kelly, E-Rod, Montgomery, and Sewald?
@scottmac3539Ай бұрын
@@marcr196 I hope it's a rough patch that is coming to an end soon or it will be a historically bad September collapse which has happened before with Lovullo at the helm. Mets are red hot and this only intensifies my concern. Every game is crucial right now, the margin for error is razor thin.
@tru3dialectАй бұрын
He changes the entire lineup every single game oh yeah and makes a bunch of questionable bullpen choices consistently.. but unless we miss postseason on a bad losing streak I think he stays
@marcr196Ай бұрын
Whether Lovullo should or should not be on the hot seat is irrelevant. He won't be, Kendrick, Hazen, and the players all like him. There is also plenty to blame besides him and the bullpen mismanagement. He doesn't control the fact that every starter except Gallen has an ERA over 4.00, just as he doesn't control the fact the offense was white hot in July and August.
@ki2726Ай бұрын
He does control that. He should’ve probably fired the pitching coach and how they structure their pitching philosophy. Dbacks are worse pitching wise than the historically bad lowly Chicago White Sox. How is that a true championship contender?
@marcr196Ай бұрын
@@ki2726 I’m sure he has input on coaching personnel decisions, but managers aren’t the decision makers on personnel. That’s the GM’s job.
@ki2726Ай бұрын
@@marcr196 But doesn’t the manager hire the coaches on the coaching staff? How does the pitching coach stay this long after how anemic they’ve been all season.
@marcr196Ай бұрын
@@ki2726 Nope, GM hires coaches on the staff. I'm sure Hazen gets input from Torey though. Not sure its Strahm's fault either, he's generally well regarded in MLB circles. Sometimes its just the players underperforming
@ki2726Ай бұрын
At the very least the pitching coach should be fired and the organization needs to change their pitching philosophies and processes. Dbacks are worse pitching wise than the historically bad lowly Chicago White Sox. That doesn’t equate to a championship contender no matter how good the offense has been.
@coryoldham-il5sjАй бұрын
IF this team does not make the playoffs then I think you need to have serious conversations to replace the pitching coach Strom. 4th worst team ERA in MLB.
