i've just started getting back into arms after not playing for years, and hearing that sparkies aren't considered good arms was a little surprising since the last i remember hearing about them was that they were the best in the game. it's incredible how metas can develop even in games without ongoing balance patches

i definitely agree ninjara should be between ribbon girl and spring man, because he gets more benefits from his vanish than ribbon girl gets, but neither one gets any tools to help them land more hits OR more powerful hits, which springman does have while also not having any of their weaknesses

tbh if i were balancing coyle i’d start by removing the third arm. her other abilities are good without it. i also think springtron is better than yall gave him credit for, i think he would at least be above springman

@@dominoh1732 hi, person from the video speaking here. the first part of your comment is my thoughts exactly, i think Ninjara can be annoying but has more weaknesses than strengths. i don’t think coyle really needs any of her abilities removed. i think making her slower and having her hitbox be bigger + her short hitstun removed would make her way more bearable to fight.

I’m so happy to see a Arms Tier list in 2023, I still remember early arms meta where characters like Min Min was either thought to be the best in the game or low tier. I love playing her and I should probably come back to it, are there active matchmaking servers around?

Master Mummy is underrated in my opinion. That damn healing ability is so op, his starter arms are pretty good and his grab damage is the highest in the game, tied with hedlok He’s just a bit slow which does hold him back

I kind of disagree with Ribbon Girl, and here's why. First off, yes, some arms are stronger against her, but she's not just agile to go up and down. She's pretty good for left and right when she's in the airs. To do that, you can tap the dodge button, so she doesn't instantly land on the ground, and then keep jumping. Still, to be able to dodge these weapons, you'd need to be pretty good with her. But you'd be surprised by her hidden skill ceiling... Next, it is true that hitting with her arms can prove itself challenging. But, it's not something you deal with. It's something you learn. And when you do, you can do stuff your opponents won't see coming. Also, I recommend holding the dodge button when she lands from a quick drop, so that you can charge up your weapons and have them activated for longer if you jump again. That's when I usually punch with her. Then, I would say there's more to her than just jumping in the airs. There's dropping, there's dodging, ground hitting, air hitting, and, TRICKS. That's right, there are a few tricks you can pull off with Ribbon. Like I mentioned, you can fake dropping to the ground by only tapping the dodge button instead of holding it. That not only gives a good dodge in the airs instead, but it lets you continue to jump. I use this very often, since this trick is good with both advanced and beginner players. Plus, it adds unpredictability and agility, even if they get used to your trick. Think of it as a jump, but that doesn't go up and focuses on going to the side. If you learn how to be fast, use your aerial abilities with her, develop the right reflexes and get very good at dodging, she can be a good menace. For me, she's definitely not C tier. Maybe A. Then again, I might just say that because she's my second main...

I can agree about Ninjara being a noob killer. Now that i finally got a switch and have been playing the game, I VERY quickly got annoyed with him both online and off lol. Now I'm glad Yabuki loves MinMin so much (aside from her being my favorite character too) that it kept Ninjara from being the ARMS rep in smash like Sakurai was considering lol. A strategy I've developed is to bait his teleport with a straight punching arm and then catch him with a second punch as he reappears, sometimes with a more curved/sideways hitting arm helps I find. Also I was surprised to find out in my stats Ribbon is my most played character. From when the game came out, I was expecting to be a primary MinMin and Lola main cause I just love those characters in general so much, but Ribbon Girl is super fun and i guess beginner friendly like you said. Though I like using a lot of the cast, I find myself most comfortable in my playstyle with her and mixing up the multiple jumps with punches is fun. Also gotta love that voice.

Ninjara can be easily overwhelming for newer players too because he has a lot of options and most of them are safe to do

I honestly agree. I am not good at Arms at all, and I can never fight Ninjara. I also feel similar to how you do about Min Min. I really wanted Dr Coyle to be the Smash Rep, but would definitely have Min Min as the smash rep over pretty much anyone else in the game.

Even though I mainly play ninjara and max brass. I agree that ninjara has a good handful of weaknesses, but with good teleport timings and electric/stun arms equipped, you can be a nightmare to fight for most characters that can't eat the chip damage you can do.

I haven't picked up this game in a looooooong time. I remember as a kid maining master mummy and helix. good to see my child brain validated knowing the latter was shit and the former was pretty good! super fun game, just wish i had good enough internet to play online.

This feels so odd to watch. I lost my copy of Arms like 3 years ago, and I remember at some point Ribbon Girl being considered top tier. I did find she is a lot of fun to play personally. I do remember this was within the month of Dr. Coyle releasing, so maybe my timeline is screwed, but I think it’s interesting.

Byte & Barq, my beloved I love their design and the way they are animated, but it's very unfortunate how bad they actually are in comparison to the other options I remember making a Coyle player ragequit, because I was using a long range spam strategy with them, good times I would personally put Mechanica in low B tier though

Honestly I disagree with the ribbon girl C tier. I have played this character for years and i can confirm that yea she has weaknesses but if you are good enough you can easily counter spammers or hydra players. I'd put her in B because she can definitely have tough battles with dr coyle, max brass and kid cobra but it doesn't mean it can't defeat it

It's fairly active but it does have its "dead" moments. you'd have a better chance contacting people in a server for example. If you wanna get the game id definitely suggest to wait for a discount though!
