Michael Handel sadly passed away in 2013, due to cancer. I always thought he was the nicest person in this series and he was treated unfairly. His intelligence was evident when he spoke. RIP.

Yes, very sad - he was only 43 when he died, wasn't he? Agree with what you say about Michael; he was very misunderstood and underrated, not fitting within the narrow band of personality/behaviour expected of a double-glazing salesperson. He was punching well below his weight working at U-fit.

I knew Michael, from around 1993 to 2000, then I moved away from Coventry and we lost touch. We met in a hostel for young homeless people, and immediately struck up a friendship. I spent many a night in his room playing othello, which of course he obliterated me at, but he did teach me to be good enough to beat randoms. My compensation was that he would occasionally play chess and I would beat him lol. I got to know him well and the friendship extended beyond both of us moving on to our own homes. He had a lot of heartache and tragedy in his life, but he always remained a good friend and it hurts that when I decided to catch up with him, he had already recently died. My condolences to his wife and loved ones. He was a solid dude. RIP Michael.

There are some moments in this which aren't in the series itself, so this is an amazing upload! :-)

I'm glad to hear you like it, John! Yes, there are some differences, which are very noticeable when you've watched one version a lot and then switch to the other. It makes you appreciate how the editing doesn't always lead to an accurate representation of what went on.. But, The Armstrongs is very funny and severely underrated nonetheless 😀

Don't suppose you know where I can find the Christmas Party episode they made at all?
@david-ledbury2 жыл бұрын
Sadly not; no one would love to get their brass bands on a copy of that more than me! If I do ever find it however, I'll whack it up on here.

@@david-ledbury I too have been searching for the Christmas Party episode for years- I've written to the BBC, the documentary maker... done everything possible and still nothing.

@@Richard-ud4fw You've gone to some effort by the sound of it - a shame you couldn't get hold of it, especially having written to the BBC 😮💨
