I honestly wonder where all our zakat is going when I see hundreds of millions of people still starving and our leaders walk with Rolex filth on their wrists. They are like pigs covered in materialistic mud. And before another Muslims says "But ALLAH didn't say you couldn't enjoy yourself with the wealth", how will you or justify a 50k watch on your wrist while children are starving anywhere on earth? How will you justify that 50k being spent on a useless and vain item on your wrist, instead of nourishing the children of Adam's progeny? You denied 50k from starving orphans, children, your brothers and sisters, the needy and instead gave the wealthy who made the watch. How will anyone justify that in front of a literal God that created a universe and found it worth less than the wing of a mosquito? How can you seriously tell me that ALLAH will be fond of you for having a Lamborghini as millions of the Ummah of Muhammad (saw) starved? Would any of you dare to stand in front of ALLAH with Gucci pants on the day of Judgement? Would any of you dare flex his watch in front of ALLAH? Would any of you even dare show a Lamborghini to Jibreel, Mikhail, Israfil and the angels carrying ALLAH's Throne? Yet so many of us excuse this behaviour with our "influencers" and "leaders" and Muslim youths. 500k in the bank, but 1k on ALLAH's account, very funny. And we wonder why the Ummah is in turmoil... The youth can not even afford housing due to greed and we wonder why they don't marry or commit zina or watch adult content. In all honesty, what on earth would you tell a literal GOD that asks you about where you spent HIS wealth? Imagine standing before ALLAH on Judgement Day and all the poor people you helped all testify on your behalf that you fed them, clothed them and helped them to the best of your ability. Even disbelievers testifying on your behalf for helping their child, nourishing their ill. And the animals testifying good treatment though it costed you more, testifying halal slaughter although it was more intimate and difficult. The trees testifying that you granted them life from a seed and that they give you all their deeds for you gave them and the animals shelter and fed the world and the soil through them. What an honor to stand in front of ALLAH, The Giver, The Benevolent, having provided for HIS creation from what HE allowed you to have. In contrast the man who bought the Lamborghini instead. What will he have that day? Even if the man gave charity and prayed, how will he justify this on the day when EVERYTHING will be accounted for? How will ALLAH balance an overall negative object on the scale? The Lamborghini only took, it was produced by disbelievers and built using resources that the impoverished mined and as the impoverished workers mined they got ill and the fuel burnt unnecessarily to produce the car and run the car poisoned people's lungs and that oil delivery caused birds and ocean life to drown in oil. And you might claim that you had nothing to do with the oil or how the car was manufactured, but what benefit did this vain object bring in the sight of ALLAH? Think. In the sight of ALLAH, your choice to buy the Lamborghini instead of helping people, caused immense suffering, so why should the purchase be counted as anything but a bad deed, that will weigh heavy on the scales? And what excuse will you have in front of a GOD? "I didn't know any better!", so ALLAH should punish you for willful ignorance? You were smart enough to get the vehicle, how do seek to deceive the All-Knowing? "I did it to please my wife!", so ALLAH should punish you for following your wife instead of ALLAH and His prophets? "I did it for happiness!", did ALLAH not suffice you that you had to purchase such a vain object? There are no excuses. Give ALLAH your best. Or do you wish to become like those who offer ALLAH little and expect much in return? Jannah and the glory of looking at ALLAH's face doesn't come with 25k to charity and 500k in the bank. It comes to those who give selflessly in the name of ALLAH, aloud and in secret. It comes to those who treat this earth as a temporary location given to you as a sacred trust, you will take nothing with you, so travel lightly and treat it well. Your workers bodies will testify whether or not you treated them well. After all, every cell is alive and belongs to ALLAH. Realize that you are here in eternal debt that can never be repaid. If you incur more debt for vanity projects, expect nothing in return. ALLAH doesn't owe you anything. Doing the bare minimum doesn't mean you're far from Jahannam. It only means you are barely escaping it. FEAR ALLAH MORE THAN YOU FEAR POVERTY. LOVE ALLAH MORE THAN YOU LOVE YOUR WEALTH.

It's not impossible to live in the city and be spiritual, it just takes extra discipline. Cities are the prime targets of programming. If you have the means and plan accordingly in the future. Then look towards settling down in the rural parts of the world, where community is small, where land is cheap and you can grow agriculture.
