As Ziv said, it’s a synth with infinite sweet spots. I would have loved Korg to add the extras that Behringer did, which really add to the functionality without really losing anything. It’s an endlessly fun machine to play with, and always results in something you can imagine using in a track.
@AlexBallMusic

It certainly is endlessly inspiring. In terms of extras, I have modular gear and can patch as many extra functions in as I need, but I appreciate some will want just a 2600 and nothing else, so extra functions are always handy.

Thankfully you can connect basically anything to it, so it's not a problem, but I did instinctively reach for the 3620 panel that wasn't there a few times! Probably because I've been spoiled to play the originals up until this point. My System 100m 184 4CV keboard works a charm with it, but it's quite funny to see a keyboard dwarf the synth.

@@h2o1969 It is a really amazing synth, no doubt about it. I got the Gray Meanie version for the same price as the 'normal' one for €569,- You can do all the patches on it from the original ARP2600 patch book and they sound just the same. Or should I say you can make them sound the same. It's got a low end that'll make the house shake, sub-audible and luckily Behringer didn't add any modern effects. They left the design as it should be and only made changes that made sense like some more waveforms in oscillator 3 and adding MIDI. That was a wise move. The filter is truly amazing. It's got the same circuitry inside as the original only with modern components. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you get one. ^_^

Let's not forget the change in scale from DIP package ICs as used in the seventies. Compare to SMD components, much smaller. Slidepots have always been scalable, think about graphic EQs and car stereo, so that part is easy peasy. Nice they stayed with the 1/4” jacks instead of going 1/8".
