im about to graduate from medical school next week. I want to be like you when I "grow" up. :D You represent everything I believed a physician should be like when i started med school. I studied in germany. medical education here is awful. a lot of pretentiousness. a lot of bullshit,a lot of financal interests, not a whole lot of patient care. So thank you for making this accessible to the public. Btw I devoured frameworks for internal medicine. I recommend it to everyone.

i have a jugular vein or artery pulsating on everytime i lay down and i can not sleep. my vein is huge over inch wide and i can see on my ct scan . i am scare my cardiologist saying my heart is fine . can you tell me what make vein or artery pulsating crazy i have a lots pain in my vein . ct scan shows i born with strange jugular vein anatomy . Would you please can recommend any docter to see about this please .Do you treat this situation ? i am suffering over 9 month every docter telling me i am fine but i don't feel fine .I feel like my jugular pressure is not right or something really wrong and my ct scan show my right external jugular vein does drain directly into right internal jugular vein rather than into the more common subclavian vein. and asymmetic enlargement of the right internal jugular vein . Please help me.

First of all SUPERB presentation! I was brought here by recommendation by Dr. Eric Strong, great recommendation :) Just a quick question, if we observe jugular venous pulsations in the upright/sitting position we automatically have a increased jugular venous pressure as the normal pressure is

If you see the venous pulse above the clavicle when the patient is in the upright position, that automatically suggests that it is abnormally elevated (since as you mentioned the clavicle is 12-16 cm above the RA in that position and normal JVP is
