@@idkwayta1722 This was just the group I decided to show since its the most recent example. but I've seen this trend constantly throughout the years. so I finally decided to make a video on it. I do say in the video that this has been happening for years. so I just want to clarify it isn't just this group. I definitely wouldn't be making a video if it had only happened once. though I'm hoping KZbin will be the community for me. so far it has been a great experience everyone is so kind and I love the insights people have given, so I'm hoping to stick around for a while. I appreciate your comment!

@@westwaysablethen show proof of this happening because the group you’re talking about is an anime fan art group & your art, while impressive, does not fit the theme of the group. So I don’t think it’s fair for you to attack this one group when it’s obvious why they didn’t post your artwork and now when you get called out on it you say "this happens all the time across multiple groups"… it’s like… okay… then prove it.

It looks like that community in particular caters to the anime art style. if you do a fan art of an existing anime character in your style, which i think would look badass, i think they'd dig it.
@westwaysable3 ай бұрын
@@DennNakamura I did think that at one point but as I continued to scroll through i saw quite of bit of different art styles, though you definitely could be right, they may just prefer the anime art style, though I couldn't find anywhere in the group where they mentioned that, I may have missed it though!

I've been in the art community for about 10 years now and I haven't noticed any of what you've mentioned in this video. But I did notice that people have gotten more reluctant to actively interact with other artists and try to make a connection. I've done it myself, I've noticed it :) but I'm aware and changing that by interacting with people's posts more and commenting wherever i can

I stopped posting in FB art groups because ultimately I don't think it contributes much towards building a following or any meaningful feedback / discussion. I did encounter a few problem groups that had weird rules every so often. Mods should just be able to look at your art and tell it's not AI.
@infamous6353 ай бұрын
I was really expecting the twist to be that you were making really divisive or cursed artwork, but your artwork is very normal, and actually really good. But yeah, online communities suck if you're not one of the moderators or a moderators friend.

It’s best to start your own art community, that way you’ll already have a group of followers that would support your work and other endeavors. Btw, your art looks real nice, I’m expecting to see some tutorials and other tips from you so keep up the good work.

I appreciate that! I do hope to go more in depth on some tutorials and my process for creating, a take alot of inspiration from Craig Mullins as well as WLOP and Ruan Jia. 4:38 Damn dude you're really close to greatness. Yes most groups exploit social media for personal gain. Much of the internet is negative or lewd content because that's what people click on and the algorithm lowers your priority when you post something that doesn't get as much views as your last post. You have to think of art posting in the same way. If you post something that ISN'T mainstream you have to be the best of the best to spark curiosity in the viewer. If you post something that IS mainstream it just has to be decent because the viewer is already invested. For example, if you posted that same image at 4:38 and replaced the subject with Aphrodite and her 2 servants from that one anime the mods would have been more likely to post it. You have to ask yourself if that's something you want. In the end there is no community to be had at scale since nuance is literally dissolved by averages when any image is allowed based on engagement not merit. You have to give up popularity for community and vice versa.

This situation is strange. "Despicable Me" art is allowed and some others, so it doesn't seem to be a genre issue. It think either they think your work is A.I. because it looks so good, they take a long time to get to people, or they don't accept new people too easily. Not sure.

For me it’s making my own art spaces for myself online because I know I won’t get validated and feel good about it. So I do post for years on different platforms but stick to my own area. It’s kinda fun. Kinda lonely. But I look back at all my stuff and just feel inspired to continue doing what I enjoy! I don’t post almost all of my things I do creates because anxiety. It’s not ever perfect. But if I make my own art spaces online for myself. There’s 0 followers and I’m happy about that. I see my work and progress and go well dang, I need to get better and improve so much more. Then I look at others art in their own spaces and enjoy their artwork. It’s gorgeous. But I don’t post to it. I just love it! My favorite artist is called Mim at the moment! I am obsessed with their artwork right now! Honestly want to study how they make artwork! I love them so so so much!!!❤ However, im way too afraid to tell them I love their artwork. And never post to them. I’m the invisible admirer of theirs until I get enough courage to finally tell them that their artwork is loved and has inspired me! And this notion in different online spaces of accepting of art vs not accepting art are not the communities you wanna be apart of. That sounds really bad and unhelpful. I would avoid such communities. 4 Chan did that to me back in 2005. Said my art was the worst ever and told me to skedaddle! It hurt me to my core. And I went lurking about on funny junk. Lol I’m right now in an amazing art space and community that accepts everything no matter what on a community on Reddit and I’m really inspired by everyone that posts their artwork! I’m really happy and enjoying everyone’s artwork on there! ❤ we try to figure out what is ai and what isn’t but other than that most things are all widely accepted and loved and it’s an honor to find such an accepting art community. I don’t post my artwork there because I just feel it’s not really needed in any community at this point, it’s just me right now gushing over a fictional character I really love! That’s the only art I seem to really wanna post at the moment! Thanks for the insight and thanks for the knowledge of what the art communities are like right now!
@scorpius6669993 ай бұрын
I think you're targeting the wrong community. I'd look for another one instead to be honest, mostly because the things you make don't look like something that particular community is in. That being said, it's not a guarantee you won't find a**hole moderators that push their own friends or themselves in another one, it's been like that ever since online communities started.

I would definitely look into using Glaze and Nightshade, it's 2 programs you can use on your computer to basically encrypt your art to protect from AI but it requires a decently powerful pc, for example, my M2 MacBook pro takes over 20 hours to nightshade on the lowest protection setting, but my Desktop pc with a 2080TI takes about 15 seconds. So that is something to look into.

Sorry to hear you feel you can't find a community. I would believe that community isn't by artists, if the admins and such just post popular things they like they will hardly accept new things. I believe other sites might be better? Like Blue sky perhaps, that place has a lot of variety in art, and thousands of artists have already moved there thanks to Twitter/X's new decision to train their ai on everything that gets posted there.
