If half of KZbin consisted of documentarie like this it would be a way better site!

Very interesting. All of it falls together and makes sense, when you understand that what you are looking at is in reality a diagram, a living map of the origins of today's classical ballet...

Mil gracias!

On 14:38 on the “coupé” backwards, she steps first with the left foot back, but then when the right foot steps back she points it lifted in the air…? I don’t see anything on the notation that indicates such thing, right foot step is bare of any agréments? Or I’m missing something?

She mentioned five "positions" but did not name them (or show them)?
@JenniferMeller5 жыл бұрын
They are shown at about 7:10 and they are the same 5 positions we use today in modern ballet - I know it's been a year but I hope that's helpful!

JAJA los franceses siempre copiando a los españoles, para saber quienes crearon con sus mezclas la zarabanda, la chacona, la jácara, la petenera ...tienes que ver bailar a los hispanos

She left out the courante in her list of dances.

It would be nice if your french accent were better, because dance students will pick up your not quite correct accent and perpetuate it.

Thank you. Glad someone mentioned that. The English narrator's accent demonstrates the typical American habit of flattening and broadening all the vowels, while also eliminating the delicate nasal and epiglottal aspects of the language. It lends a flatfooted quality to the language that is really unpleasant, which doesn't exist when it is spoken properly.
