very good talk. a genre like hip hop is all about texture; certain sampling techniques like sampling something faster then slowing it down for grit, or layering and actively digging for different instruments in songs to chop apart. applies to any electronic music genre i suppose. it’s harder to achieve the sonics we’re after in the box without extra processing where as in the past texture was a result of the medium

I agree, even though I don’t listen to hip hop much. It has great textures. Back then, a lot of tech like tape decks, etc, gave us natural grit, and that’s why I like using vintage emulators and a plugin called Chow Tape to emulate that texture. It’s not perfect, but it works great. I’m a huge fan of experimental electronic music, with songs that have crazy tunes and textures. Recently, I've loved 'Bonesaw - Scruze and Kippo Remix' because it’s so different from anything I've heard with its texture.

@@GenocidePanda I think that sampling is both the easiest and hardest way to add texture because 1 there is lots of amazing things out there but 2 you gotta find the ones that work.

good pieces of advice but the mic audio quality and the slow pace is pretty dire, needs improvement. try writing out a list of bullet points to cover in your video, and cut out the dead gaps. everything you said in the first two minutes could have been said in 20 seconds.

hey man thanks for the advice i will try to work on that in the future.

I'll remember to turn off my air conditioner during recordings from now on, so that my microphone quality improves. Sorry about the audio quality.
