Great find, Dave. The 1829 is one of the few Marx models missing from my collection. I'm always on the lookout for the tin plate cars with the 3/16 scale trucks. My 1st electric train set was the Marx freight set from the 50's headed up by the 666, which it will always be my favorite Marx locomotive. When I was a kid, I thought that I had the coolest train set ever. It came with the water tower, un-coupling track section, and crossing gate. I still have the complete set, and the locomotive is still running strong and smoking after all these years.

Awesome job on the repairs Dave. I am really enjoying your videos. Another beautiful Marx set! I really like the type G trucks and started collecting them. I’m fairly new to collecting Marx trains. I think I have 4 sets now including two passenger sets.

Nice job on the caboose. If i had a trainset like that i would have replace the 'G' style bogies with 'Lionel' bogies. Even though i don't model in that scale i still find it enjoyable to watch. Also, That set was once marketed under the Sears Roebuck & Co, Allstate banner.

well, i am certainly enjoying conversing about marx trains, i love meeting other marx enthusiasts!

A very nice train. Great repairs. It's nice that all four autos were in the box even though two were broken. Now the correct style and color can be looked for to make it complete.

Thanks for another nice video and repair techniques, as well as the name of a supplier for Marx parts. I was a Marxist when I first started collecting years ago and you are inspiring me to go back and look more closely at what I have, make some repairs, and get them running again..

oh! and it had an over and under figure 8 track layout with bridge and tunnel combo.

The tunnel is cool. The 2-4-0 is interesting as well. I suspect that it had traction tires!

I've been collecting Marx for decacdes! My question is, where did you find those parts bins and the contents?
@daveclarklumberАй бұрын
The parts bins are old plumbing parts drawers from the hardware store and the parts were mostly from Robert Grossman.

Anyone have a idea of the set # of this set? I just bought one like it and can’t find it in the sets book. The 1829 really puts out the smoke
