How much I miss my gixxer, the mind was willing, but arthritis intervened. At 59 I passed her on to a good buyer. I sit and watch these videos and cast my mind back over the 40 odd years of biking, and I still react as if I had a steed between my legs. I miss the adrenalin rush, the response, and the sheer thrill of freedom. It is true, once a biker, always a biker. But always remember, common sense and safety must come first, you can't pay a mortgage from the grave.

Well, mate, I started riding on the road at 16 and still riding at 65, not quite as fast as in my younger days though. Something called self preservation lol Btw, I would love to have heard Hailwood on his Honda 6 race here, that sound was something else.

@pencils19519 жыл бұрын
sxazzy Of course you are right, wisdom either comes in time, or doesn't come at all. But there is a serious difference between biking for pleasure, or just being a pain to other people. Being a racer comes in the right forum at amateur level and then if you have talent and backing you can move on. I'm afraid I came under the heading of "also ran", without factory parts you're there for the ride, but it was great fun.
@dfw_motorrad13299 жыл бұрын
Man, videos like this remind me of how much weaker the motorcycle culture is here in the US. This makes me wish I lived in Ireland/Isle of Man. This is just the purest and rawest form of the sport, and I love it. So much precision and skill. And that sound, you just can't get anything like it on a circuit. Hearing them coming in the distance and anticipating the fly-by. Some day, I'll attend one of these road races. Hopefully the TT. And hopefully some day soon.
@dfw_motorrad13299 жыл бұрын
flip inheck Yes I know, I was just referring to road racing in general.
@dfw_motorrad13299 жыл бұрын
flip inheck Good to know. Thanks. Unfortunate about that main race getting cancelled. But that's what I'm talking about with the riders still going out in unfavorable weather. It seems like AMA and MotoGP don't have that type of dedication. I remember watching a MotoGP USA race where it was delayed something like half an hour for a small damp spot on the track. Then you have the 2014 Ulster Grand Prix where they raced in the rain. Just amazing stuff.
@johnh3519 жыл бұрын
RyanRants My race is the Ulster GP. I want to go so bad. My problem is setting up the trip, I don't travel outside of the US and have no clue what all it entails. Also, I have no one to travel with, aside of my girlfriend of 20 years and I don't want to pay for her nagging ass. LOL

Can't believe there is 41 mindless oblivious tools that can't comprehend what an awesome spectacle this is. Let alone the courage that's represented and respect that this race course demands. If u find dislike here, kindly move along and leave the liking to those who can truly appreciate what eye candy this is to behold.

Travis Truitt Lockk9 is a magician when it comes to this kind of content! Don't stop here, browse his vids there's tons of eye candy here to enjoy and they all impress. The guys on the bikes command the respect but Lockk9 puts it together for us to enjoy. Some people will just never get it, but its their loss. This IS living on the edge and it is a true pleasure to behold!

Bill M A small % of purist will never get this but even Harley riders or riders of any kind of bikes that ride for the sake of the ride can appreciate what's going on here. The two wheeled community as a whole is one of the closest brotherhoods outside of serving your country that I know of. Riders should support each other and make it stronger rather than tearing each other down over the style of their ride.

The title says it all: "Sweet Music To My Ears" When I was a kid, my family used to go to Novi Sad in Serbia for holidays. Sommer was always really hot, so we all had our windows wide open. Because it was big, wide street just across my window, cars and motorcycle used to race down the street. Since then I LOVE THE SOUND OF INLINE 4 CYLINDER MOTORCYCLES!!!!! SWEET MUSIC TO MY EARS!

@sydbarret84164 жыл бұрын
Exactly what i was thinking, the most dangerous part of that corner was there!! Its ok we have a couple of straw bales to soften the 100+mph impact.?. Stand the opposite side with some safe form of viewing mirror to monitor racers..
@sydbarret84164 жыл бұрын
@flip inheck Who mentioned using you're own mirror?? Plenty of alternative ways of projecting the image of the riders so course management are not putting lives in unnecessary danger on that particular corner. Your only gonna get away with signage stating, "Motor sports can be dangerous" your present at your own risk etc. Putting a lot of faith in man and machine getting it right. Loss of life means everything changes. End of the event, event insurance goes through the roof, fuel for the anti's to spout bollocks. I'm not looking to spoil anyone's excitement of watching racing, but personally that looks like a potential disaster in the making. Avoidable....

@UrbanChaos209 жыл бұрын
warm tires with a specially made compound. These wear exponentially more quickly than road tires, but the trade on is much more grip. But even road tires have that much grip at those lean angles in the wet. These riders' tires though, can allow lean further in the wet conditions than everyday road commuters' tires can.
