Thanks for your comment and sharing. It's a struggle sometimes but finding people who support you and are excited about what you are doing, will only make you more confident and keep that imposter syndrome down. Just your few words here have given me another boost too! So thank you. Feel free to share a link to your work even if it's not comic related😁

I haven't created a webcomic or anything, but I am an artist. I've been struggling so much with having the motivation to start and actually finish my drawings and my paintings. I also want to make a KZbin channel, but I can't seem to figure out what kind of videos I want to make. Mentally, I do feel as though I am an imposter, and that I am not creative or talented. I do know deep down that I was meant to create things, and yet I can't execute. Your video makes me feel a bit of validation as it lets me know that I am not alone in this. I know I have plenty of friends and family who are willing to support me, and that I just have to get out of my own way. I appreciate your video so much, and I might check it out since I love supporting black artists!

Thanks so much for sharing. And I'd appreciate you reading my work, I think you'll enjoy it. I completely understand how you feel. I too struggled with the thought of making a KZbin channel. but I'm sure glad I did. Don't put too much effort into it at first, just make the easiest video you can is my advice. The more you practice at it you'll get better and slowly find what you want to film, say and do. Being yourself will make it a lot easier. Good luck and feel free to leave a link to your artwork if you'd like?

nice video and appreciate it. Due to pretty bad imposter syndrome I just recently started to take myself seriously as a creator. And actually do need an artist now that I think about it lol

Hi! I'm glad to hear you're making that change. It's a tough struggle but once you start that mental shift it will get easier. Just don't be hard on yourself and be patient. Thanks for sharing your comment and watching. ☺️

Hi Dion, I've watched all your videos but I think I haven't left any comment yet, so here I am. Big cheers to you and your way of thinking. You are the chilliest dude on internet ❤ It's always a pleasure to listen someone with enough experience giving good advices and faith to us random people to get strength to start doing things. I love your comic and your art style. Also always is really cool watching the way artists work. For me hand drawing will always be the top notch style in art. I also love digital art but, from my experience, I think the undo/redo way takes away kind of value and having an"infinite" canvas and nonstop detailing makes some good art get tiring. I think it's really good for concept art though. What you are exposing in this video, I think most of us have ever felt that paranoia. It used to happen to me mostly when work didn't come up the way I intended to. When this happened to me I looked back to my hard work and I used to understand I'd haven't reached my goal yet to think like that so I focused and I got back to work. Until I stopped drawing coz life stuff excuses lol. To start with something again, some day I will rising and I'll finish this sfIV parody. Shame it's not translated... Yet. fromlost.wixsite.com/fromlost/comic And I'll start doing some already written work I have stored. Until then, catch you all in next videos!!! Lesss goooo 🤘🤘🤘

Hi! Thanks so much for sharing your comment and leaving a link to your work. I'm going to check it out right now. Apologies for the late reply, I only just saw your message. For some reason it was in the 'held for review' section 🤔 Thanks for watching! Ok, just a quick edit to my reply. I just started reading Fool Fighters. Que una gran obra! (My spanish is rusty). It's amazing. Love the story and the art. Are you using markers or watercolour? I can't wait to see more of what you do.

@@dionhamillillustrations Hi Dion! 0 problem for the late rep. Don't apologize, plz :) Thanks for checking it. I should be thinking to make an own website and of corse to translate it at least in english to reach all around the world. The plan is to finish it this year once for all. Ten pages (of 45) left!! I'm using just watercolours. The history about this is when I started it (2012 🙈) I barely had experience in painting but I knew for sure I wanted it painted like sf4 style. I clearly didn't know what I was getting into lol. Through the process of it and the years I've gained consistency at watercolour painting but I want to be careful to not change too much the style I started with to leave it homogeneous, even if it means that rough and burnt looking.. Anyway, I think the more it goes on the better it gets :) I'm looking forward to show it finished!! Cheers dude!

Love your art style. Watching artists like yourself definitely motivates me. I used to draw comics but now I do animations on my KZbin channel but I might get back to drawing comics again.

Fantastic video! Unfortunately, I am still in the process of creating my comic, but I can definitely hype you up about it, so more of a promotion and a synopsis. I love it with all my heart and hope to share it online in the near future. My story is called Solace, and is about the escapades of a warrior Witch in an alternate history. Basically WW2 went differently (I'll spare you the details), and now the United States have been split in half in a Holy War and a sentient super-virus. Now what's left of the sweet land of liberty is known as Solace, and is fighting against the rest of the world to hold itself together. Meanwhile, our main character, Anastasia Zimova is a Chaplain in a scout company that gets annihilated by the forces of darkness. She runs for her life and discovers a benevolent strain of the virus that gives her the power of...guns? Anyway, she becomes the Baba Yaga, the witchy patriot of her glorious country. Would describe the comic as spiritual successor to Tank Girl, Hellboy, Invincible, Spawn, and who could forget, Sailor Moon! I should hopefully be releasing it soon, but before I do, any tips on how I should go about it and where I should release it? Also, I seriously struggle with paranoia, imposter syndrome, and fear of the unknown, so this video really helped me. Thank you again, and have a great rest of your day!

Hi! Thanks so much for sharing your story! It sounds awesome already. I can't wait to see more. Update this with a link in the future if you'd like to do more promotion. In the meantime I put together a list you can use to look for hosting sites to release it. courses.dionhamill.com/pages/webcomics-hosting-sites It's not a total list of sites out there but enough to give you an idea of places to host your webcomic. In terms of the mental side of things, just believe in yourself, surround yourself with people who encourage and help you. And keep at it! Feel free to ask more questions if you need help with anything😁
