Even to this day the near filigreed pictures and that forest they dance in make me marvel at their exquisite beauty.

I never knew this about Sleeping Beauty! All you ever hear about it is the lack of Aurora's dialogue or how people are glad that Disney isn't making cookie cutter princesses like her anymore, I never realized all the framework of the animation process. Amazing analysis!!

As a child, the only Disney Princess movie I’d watch was Sleeping Beauty. And not even for the story itself because I only got into princesses when I was a teenager (My favourite movies were the “animal” centred ones like 101 Dalmatians and Lion King), but there was something so breathtaking about Sleeping Beauty that captivated me. I remember wishing she would just walk the other way in the forest so I could see more of it, or explore the king’s castle or Maleficent’s castle hahaha

Yeah, just watching her walk and dance is spellbinding, especially her hair. The only other Disney film I've watched nearly as much as this is Sword in the Stone, highly underrated I think.

@@TheGiantRobot yessss the sword in the stone was my favourite! I had an Arthurian with phase growing up (my younger brother is called arthur and I thought it ~meant something~ ??? Lol) and I remember being personally offended that no one else in my class had seen it, even though it’s a Disney movie hahaha

@@aelisedasilva That's so great! It overtook Sleeping Beauty as my favorite to watch, too, partly because it's short and partly because the characters are so fun. I think the wizard duel with Mad Madam Mim is my favorite part. Whoa, what, whoa!

The simple fact that Walt and his company was able to complete this film, despite how less the return of investment was made, is something to be greatly impressed upon. This made me appreciate that we are now in a day and age where we can watch this marvel of a film in 1080p quality and/or higher and experience all the art and effort that was put onto it.

Thank you for your essay!! ❤❤ So many stupid people of today think the nine old men used rotoscoping, when that is/was never true. I'm tired of the internet and Wikipedia spreading false information about their artistic genius. It would be like saying that Leonardo Da Vinci or Michelangelo cheated somehow with their masterpieces. All these artists just prove the human potential of creativity and dedication.
