I confirm the two youngsters on my channel are my children, and you are absolutely right about the necessity to let them be what they are. Your analysis is all the more exact since I (more or less consciously) oriented my daughter to ancient music instruments that I didn't know myself when I was her age. Till last year she repeated (perhaps it was a kind of provocation...) that music was not everything in life, and she could perfectly stop music without missing it. But this year I have noted a radical change : she spontaneously takes her instruments out of the box and spends quite a lot of time and energy to improve the pieces she works on. I guess she has come to the point where she gets more satisfaction from hearing her own progress than from our admiring her... May it last forever !!! I hope to convince her to record these pieces, because they are more and more challenging and beautiful, so our subscribers might enjoy them as much I do when hearing her practice everyday. On the contrary, my son (who got the idea of learning the volin by himself) has not shown such a passion yet. To my regret he always postpones or avoids practising, so his violin is out of the box only two or three hours a week, of which one hour during his lesson 🙄. Since it is now his eigth year of practise in a rather high expectation music school, it clearly is not enough, but I cannot torture him into practising 🤣 ... I can only encourage him to keep on until he comes to the same evolution as his sister. All the best, and see you soon on our modest channel (hope to record more videos during Easter holydays...) ¡Magnìfico! La AAM tiene una larga trayectoria conservando siempre un altísimo nivel interpretativo, como lo demuestran en esta grabación. Y Thomas Dunford es quizás el mejor laudista de la actualidad. Vean en KZbin los conciertos como solista, uno con música de J. S. Bach y otro recital en Wigmore Hall. Aquí entrega una impresionante versión del BWV 995 de Bach (¿entiendo que es una transcripción de la Suite para cello N° 5?). Gracias AAM, esta es una grabación para atesorar.

42 minutes... c'est le temps nécessaire pour que les fumeurs en manque se mettent à tousser et ruiner un concert ! En général sur du Bach ils attendent les silences (ce qu'il y a de plus beau !) pour tout faire foirer, mais là, avec du luth ils peuvent s'en donner à coeur joie. Bravo quand même à Thomas qui joue merveilleusement des pièces d'une grande difficulté technique.

criminal incompetence on the part of the sound engineers. Mr Dowland's name is in the title of this! The lute and flute should be heard above all else. Instead they are drowned out.

absolutely horrible listening experience. Besides the trashy ads every few minutes, Mr Dunford, one of the great lutenists, is completely drowned out. Flutist can barely be heard at all. A crime has been committed here.Some techs need to face the firing squad.
