Learn the basics of a cold start for the Mirage F1 in DCS World, including programming the PCN Navigation Control Panel for the Mirage F1 EE's INS (inertial navigation system).
This tutorial covers aspects of both the Mirage F1 CE and Mirage F1 EE.
Reiver is terrible at French.
Reiver is not a hardcore milsim-er - he just likes playing the game well - if you're looking for something more authentic, please consult the flight manual.

I've owned the Mirage 2K for a few years now, but only just started learning it recently because of all the drama. Found this series through a search, and I have to say these are some the best-made tutorials on YT. Very, very well done. Striking a balance between thoroughness and succinctness is a real art, and these are outstanding. Subscribed!

Thank you for the great video ! It is a very nice condensation of a lot of details required to be able to use this scrumptious machine properly. I'd like to add a few details that I noticed you didn't mention in the video that may help other people out there : 1. (CRITICAL) You didn't mention anything about the "Auto-souris" (Auto-inlet cones). When I believe it is really a critical part of the start-up procedure. It is the other button that looks like the Nose Wheel Steering High sensitivity one. If it isn't set to ON it means that everytime you go above Mach 1.2~ish you will have to manually set the reactor inlet cones position (who does that lol) so that your engine won't stall and/or worse flame-out. So setting it on (automatic) is almost mandatory for high-speed flight IMO. As an extra piece of info, the gauge which says MACH in it above the engine RPM gauge displays the current setting of the inlet-cones. If your having engine troubles above Mach 1.2 and that gauge doesn't show somewhere aroud your current speed, it might just mean that your inlet cones aren't properly positioned. 2. (Practical info) As far as I know the IFF isn't modeled in the game and any manipulation that you do with the IFF system has no practical effect on the function of the aircraft within DCS (you will just always be correctly identified by friendlies and foes alike). They may have changed that since I last checked though. 3. (Tip) I personaly like to set my trim not to neutral but rather to a take-off trim setting. It would be somewhere around 0.5 to 0.8 line width pitch-up. I find that it helps in taking off with minimal effort when heavily loaded. P.S./EDIT: I saw you mentioning Auto-souris in the comments here and your "Take-off and Taxi" video only after publishing this comment. But I believe having the informations in more places helps in spreading it and might avoid frustration when learning the module for others so I'll keep this comment up.

Thank you! The shock cones setting is considered in the next video in the series prior to taxiing. IFF is mentioned as it is modelled through SRS and is frequently used in multiplay with controllers.

@@reiver1-1 Thanks for the feedback, I didn't know the MF1's IFF was correctly taken into account in SRS. Interesting

I've gotten the hang of the A-4E, F-5E, the early migs and the MiG-21. Just how steep is the learning curve on Mirage F-1, gentleman?

She's certainly no walk in the park, but I find the French jets' cockpits to be well laid out and their systems are very logical (they make sense to me). I don't fly the aircraft you have mentioned but I imagine she's more complicated than something like the F-5E. The module, although in early access, has a lot of detailed features.

@@reiver1-1 Yes, I've always loved Mirages, one of the sleekest fighters ever made. I often wondered why more jets don't have as sharp a nose as the Mirage does - surely it cuts through the air better?

A lot of things for nothing. It is too complicated an airplane and it has few possibilities.
