Horus the Necromancer has that shadow wizard aura. Print that sucker on a casette tape and you are half way to a banger Dungeon Synth release. He is closely followed for me by the battle scene with Orks, Space marines and my beloved Beastmen. That beautiful mess of an artwork has it all: Confusion, mayhem, carnage, a bolter with an insane muzzle flash, a Space Marine striking a dramatic pose in death, desperation in the face of the beastman, mischief in that of the orc. It's true proro-grimdarkness that can only be found in early 40k/rogue trader artwork.

CGI/CADD Warhammer Art these day is, for the most part, so lifeless, drab & *_uninspired._* (e.g. _Corp-orotized_ ) _And: the fact that GW no longer _*_Credits_*_ their Artists.....is __*_very_*_ telling._

I love that gritty, old school Warhammer artwork. Current art trends these days are really without the raw passion fantasy and sci-fi art used to have or it's done on a computer. Sometimes that's okay but usually I like to see pen and ink and fully painted artwork, I love Tony Hough, John Blanch, Paul Bonner and Jes Goodwin's 40k illustrations; those are the artists that really nailed down the gritty, grim-dark feel for the game. GW should have never stopped with that style. I really hate that GW made the codexes into fancy, high-end coffee table books, it's too much.

To each their own but I personally think this art is mid at best, I’m 45 professionally trained artist. I appreciate it for what it is however. Comparatively however it’s poor.
