Like a Pratt l tried doing that footpath cycling in the winter.First the chain came off and wedged in the gears so l had to carry the bike and then I was chased by a herd of bullocks in knee deep mud.Not my finest hour but l did retain my wellies 😂 I think that yellow bird might have been a Golden Oriole .I’ve only ever seen one.

Although I am not a boater, it's clear to see from an observation point of view that the canals are slowly deteriorating to a point that stretches are either not navigable or becoming downright dangerous. Watching many Narrowboat channels this is happening up and down the network. No dredging to keep the canals working, leaking locks, sunken or derelict boats polluting the water, closing down of certain service points, and stoppages causing chaos. The CRT claim to be a charity, but go and have a look at the salaries of the chief officers. Your licence fees are going up at a set percentage for the next 5 years, for what. Life on the canals is coming under threat, and very soon, only the very rich will be able to afford such pleasures which will see this way of life dissappear. Good job I'm in a good mood, otherwise I might have a rant 😅😅
