Inspired by actual events, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story is the second installment of FX’s award-winning limited series, American Crime Story.
Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Alexis Martin Woodall, Tom Rob Smith, Dan Minahan, Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski are Executive Producers of The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. It is written by Tom Rob Smith, and Ryan Murphy directed the premiere episode of the series, which stars Edgar Ramirez, Darren Criss, Ricky Martin and Penelope Cruz. The series is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.
FX’s first installment of ACS, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, garnered 9 Emmy Awards while collecting 22 nominations. As one of the most critically acclaimed programs of 2016, it also won Golden Globe, BAFTA, AFI, PGA, WGA and TCA awards.

this show is all about the killer, very little about versace. we shouldnt be immortalizing the bad guy.

Exactly! "Andrew Cunanan is a pioneer"?! I stopped watching after that line. We're making this killer out to be something totally opposite of what he was. He may have started out as some sort of normal guy, but something went horribly wrong & we should NOT be giving him recognition for that...certainly not in ANY kind of positive way. I don't like the way anyone's talking about him who's been involved n this movie. He was NOT a "pioneer"...he was a twisted individual who killed 5 people & he should NOT be glorified for that.

This isn't the LIFE of Versace, this is the Assassination of Versace. The seasoned showed how passionate he is about his art and where his dedication came from. He had to work hard to get where he was at. With Andrew, they showed how he had lots of desire, but was too envious about other people's success and was too lazy to put in actual work. The show was to make parallels about both the killer the victims and what were the motives behind the killings. In a way, three of the killing has a co-relation to one another. The first 3 people he killed he had a connection to Versace. He loved and envied all of them. Andrew's lover, friend, secret lover billionaire and Versace, his idol , has things in common: They all worked hard as from the beginning as gay men and they all have value. Andrew was the complete opposite. That's just one of the reasons for his rampage.

@@noz7076 Exactly! When Andrew attends The Opera it reminds me so much of when Tom Ripley went to The Opera with Meredith. He went from "Peeping" The Opera when he worked as a Men's Room Attendant. He's a sicko. He didn't have any "normalcy". His Father Modesto was a Fraud in Business, his Mother was a needy Basket Case and he did not grow up in an environment where Honesty, Integrity, and Hard work where the Norm. When Gianni "Brushed" Him off after One Evening, it was too much for him. Kind of how Freddy Miles & Dickie Greenleaf brushed off Tom in The Record Shop Rome.
