Hey hey guys!
I finally have another video done, and it's of FINALLY another DnD original!
In the city that our Golden Land party is in, Danarei (AKA Danni my tiefling bard) is a well known officer of the Guild and also considered a hero of the people for helping defeat a giant fish creature that had been terrorizing the town. The ruling party of the island the city is in is demanding they give up the officers of the Guild in their city or be victims to an aggressive invasion; this is in retaliation to bombing of one of their ships. Danni sees that many of the people in the Citizen's Assembly are panicked and that they don't know what to do, so she rallies them by giving a heartfelt speech to the people as well as singing this!
She convinced them to create a maze within the confines of the city in preparation as well as a showcase that they aren't afraid of the threats by the armada barricading the city.
Check out these amazing people that helped make this video possible:

Lyrics:
We built this city on our backs
and we did it on our own
without the need for their assistance
no we did it all alone
it was because we helped each other
to thrive despite the pain
we all have lived together
while they rule from far away
what do you say to a face
that has never even seen you
so many who've seen Hell
and yet keep pushing through
well I can say it with pride
that I know that I'm alive
because this city took a monster
and has given her a life
they say you don't have power
they're telling you wrong
you know the streets of this city
they only know walls
they say they have us cornered
well I say they're lost
they won't take us in pieces
they'll take the whole lot
Take up arms brother!
show these fools looking in
they don't know who they're messing with
Build it tall sister!
make a maze only we'd see,
they'll never see it coming
what say you will you stand behind me?
what say you to protecting this city?
we will prove we don't face them alone
we'll show them if we have to we'll fight for our home

I'm imaging this sung to an epic montage of citizens forging spears and pikes, building shields and erecting barricades. There are children carrying bundles of arrows to the archer's positions, farmers digging counter-cavalry trenches, and an elderly veteran teaching a new company of men and women how to form a shield wall.

One of the campaigns I played a couple years ago nearly ended when we tried to start a revolt against a local Imperial lord. Turns out the empire's army was very _very_ well armed and our rebellion wasn't nearly as well prepared as we thought. The monk died after he used deflect missile and caught a cannon shell, which exploded a few seconds later. The cleric died after the wall she was standing on collapsed and buried her. My barbarian and one of our fighters made a last stand with thirty rebels, holding a bridge as the other fighter and our de-powered warlock evacuated the wounded and the rest of our rebels. We held just long enough for them to get into the mountains before the imperial army pulled back and shredded us with crossbows and matchlocks. Four dead party members, six hundred dead rebels and the most powerful army on earth hunting who was left. Turns out an Imperial legion is 6,000 professional soldiers, equipped with pikes and muskets, with their own artillery and cavalry. Six idiot 7th levels and a thousand armed farmers never had a chance. The rest of the campaign consisted of the survivors and our backup characters waging guerrilla warfare and using diplomacy to get the Republic across the sea to help us. We caused the deaths of some 22,000 rebels, 15,000 Imperial soldiers and 2,500 Republican marines; but we won in the end.

I have been dabbling in songwriting for my current campaign. I play Ukulele (though I am working on Guitar at the moment as well) and I have been giving my players lore through the songs of the tavern bards. It isn't any good but they seem to enjoy it. Get a cheap Uke (no more than $50) and finger pick the chords and you can make the instrument sound really nice. Lyrics can take you about a day to hammer out, a few hours when you get used to it. Singing is tricky if you are naturally off key, but the best thing you can do is pull out your phone and record yourself singing songs you know really well and adjusting your pitch until it sounds right. Honestly your ear eventually re-calibrates and you don't have to be amazing. Instruments fix any problems you will have. If you practice an hour a day, every day, you will get passable in 2 months. You will start to sound good at 6 months, and after a year you will be asked to play and sing at gatherings. Tutorials are available for free on KZbin. When you can play and sing 10 songs you will be ready to write your own.

My Half-Orc Barbarian would say to this: "A racist, you say?", with the biggest smirk on his face you can imagine. He's my currently played character, and I know for a FACT that he'd want a word with those people. I shit you not: in session zero, he flat-out started a bar fight by punching a racist in the jaw for getting all up in his face, and came THIS close to knocking his sorry ass out for it. No, really, imagine this drunk asshole spouting bullshit about Half-Orcs, and then coming up to one looking like a damn bodybuilder, with biceps the size of your head, an undercut and bones on his clothing for decoration. Definitely think of a goth-looking barbarian chilling at the bar. And as the rest of the bar starts backing the racist up? My character gets up from his bar stool, and shows to be also a whopping 2 meters tall. But in his defense: he first tried arguing that the innkeeper said he was welcome, and "Is this your smartest plan? Why don't you TRY throwing me out then, huh?" was NOT to be taken as a challenge. Moral of the story: Racists had better hold their tongue around Ronorth the Brave.

This song, reminds me of when my character Grievances, was watching as a far kingdom was taking his city, and one person, not only rallied the people, but rallied the king, and we took our city, it inspires me and makes me remember a time when I had to gather strength, great song, I love listening to it, I have nearly over and over again

Six months ago we started a Halloween oneshot with people we had known either our entire life or just met the other day. Of the ones who stayed, we all grew closer and became a set group. We all went through two characters just to find a finish for the world we had all created. From the Paladin, rogue, and warlock who were granted Immortality, the barbarian who chose to be reborn with his mother and father to have a normal life, to the druids and gunslinger who chose to return to the mortal plane to help the next generation of heroes, we all had fun. We all sobbed our hearts out, and we all had moments of pure freedom in a world where we could do anything we wanted. Our DM, my sister, is already starting to work on the next and I can't wait to see how attached we get to our new characters. I listened to your songs before every dnd session we've held, and of them all, I have to say this one represents our characters the most. We all came together to fight against a corrupt warlord. We liberated several cities, overthrew kingdoms, killed hundreds of monsters, and found a family in those we fought beside as well. We ended our campaign yesterday with this, "As the chapter in our heroes stories end, look around and see those you fought beside. Those who saved you. Those who lost their own families, but remade them with you. Each one of us has made time to fit the sessions into our busy schedules. Each one of us, has made time to form a family of nerds, geeks, awkwardness, and, most of all, loyal people. Even after all the set backs and missed sessions, we all made a family with one another. We made an escape from our own horrible lives with eachother. I hope that each and every one of us takes a page out of the storybook we created. Maybe bravery, maybe the proud chaos, maybe strength, maybe joy. Because we all forge our own stories and our lives. All it takes, is a little magic." I write this not for myself, but for those who need to hear it. We're all awkward and self-conscious. Everything is going to be okay, even if your alone, you won't always be. Magic exists, that's what makes it so the world turns round. Magic is what makes you meet your soulmates. Magic can't be explained, but it does exist. The reason you exist, is because of Magic. It might sound sappy, but magic is emotions itself. It's what you put into the world and take out of it. Magic is being who you always were, magic is *you*.

As a DM, I beg to differ, unless the players have good reasons. Example: One of my players just supplanted a tyrannical local Lord. It was his own plan, and it was a good one, and he took the initiative. That was a derailing done well.

Swift, hurried footsteps carried a breathless courier from one echoing hallway to the next, guards standing sentinel at their stations directed the poor boy to the throne room with a passive gesture until he reached the high cavernous chamber the king sat in contemplation. Court was being held, the nobles muttering their disdain as the messenger pushed through them to the King. "Your Majesty!" the poor boy gasped with the last bit of air in his lungs. The King motioned to dismiss the noble disputing her husband's funds to hear the boy out. "I... bring... word...from...Colvess..." the courier weakly held up a scroll with a hastily sealed wax stamp upon it; this his duty to be fulfilled. The king accepted it, and ushered two guards to relieve the poor boy to rest. He broke the seal and unrolled the parchment, reading silently in present of the stuffy nobles, who now grew impatient of their King's regard for this interruption. "A revolt!" the king bellowed, dropping the scroll in shock of the words, "in my own kingdom! This outrage will not be stood for!" This clearly was no longer a time for nobles to attend, and they saw themselves out as the king began ranting. "I will have none of it! We go to Colvess!"
