Woohoo! I got mentioned in a GenXGrownup video. Although the video did make me a little sad. Hearing all that talk about Battlezone and knowing it is missing from Atari's current catalog. But Paul's products look great. I think I will have to get one of his ball tops for comparison.

I'd like to know if it makes the control on the gamestation pro better, if so how. Also be interested if that ball and attachment might scratch up the controll stick in the long run. Btw are you worried that you might break your GSP controller eventualy, particularly on a rougher game. I felt that a little on a couple, unless I moved my fingers down to the base of it.
@GenXGrownUp
@GenXGrownUp 5 сағат бұрын
It's purely a matter of preference. I don't think having a ball on either the GSP or the CX-40 makes it behave differently, but it feels different and I prefer it. I suppose there's a chance of scratching the top of the stick, but I'd only care if I ever planned to remove it. 😁

Spy Hunter for the 2600 came with a joystick coupler.
@GenXGrownUp

Oh, yeah. If I'm remembering right, it's because directions on the second stick served to call the truck or deploy special weapons, right?
@jeremiahthomas8140
@jeremiahthomas8140 10 сағат бұрын
Only the button on the second joystick was used, for the secondary weapon. So the coupler was made so the right controller's button was next to the left controller's button. Great port by the way. 2600 Spy Hunter is very well done.

Would something like that make using the paddle mode of the VCS classic joystick more bearable? I expect that one does not fit the VCS classic joystick. The VCS really needs better retro controllers, paddles, driving wheel, track ball, spinner!

@@GenXGrownUp I get it. That's why I don't build some of the open source flash carts to resell. Well that and end user support. The trouble is, someone will eventually make these on a mass scale and undercut him. It happened to the custom two button controller makers when Atari released the CX78+. Those controllers were in the $45-$50 range and now you can find them in the $20's.
