WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?
The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

Faith might not be religious but it's certainly completely useless and meaningless.

David is a pure genius... a word genius... who can redefine "god" and we can stop arguing about existence of a god. Many thanks, genius David... Oh, wait... Nobody is impressed by this? Nobody cares for this definition? Christians aren't flocking to your view, and have not in the years since this episode was aired? David... I take it back. You're little better than a troll.

The Higgs was predicted by theory. The theory would have been in big trouble if it was not there.

Science is all about making predictions, testing them, then evaluating the results. When a theory is disproved, it is either modified to fit the current evidence, or scrapped all together. That is how science has been able to achieve as much as it has, when you err, you concede, then continue to investigate. Scientists' self worth isn't contingent upon always being right.

It's frustrating when you know the hosts and the caller don't realize they aren't talking about the same thing. David has no idea about earlier god. Traci said Venus was a goddess and said why. David said IT wasn't and that IT doesn't do those thing. David, even after all her examples, thinks she is talking about the planet, not the god. And its worse that her or matt don't get it. Besides him saying IT, he clearly uses terms that fit a planet.

37:23 I have issue with that "if you believe something and it turns out not to be true you weren't rationaly justified in believing it by definition" In real life we genially believe people based on predictions that their being truthfull and if it turned out their liying or their wronge then it doesn't mean we weren't rational in believing them as everything pointed to it be true, and we cant go through are life questioning ever single little detail until we have evidence, imagine someone questioning you and needing proof everytime you said yeah I bought milk

Yep, agreed. I have a rational belief that my paper will be delivered tomorrow based on it being delivered regularly in recent history. If it doesn’t turn up, so be it. It would be irrational of me to assume it won’t be delivered. Being wrong doesn’t equal being irrational.
