@@drago7807 Wrong. You miss the point. Religionists use the argument "Were you there at the Big Bang" when they themselves were not there to see their god create the universe, as they believe. It's a double standard. Also, something from nothing is not at all absurd, and if you had bothered to do the research, you'd understand that. We have conducted lab experiments in which we create a total, hard vacuum - no air, no matter, no particles, no radiation, no light - NOTHING. And from that NOTHING, quantum particles spontaneously and randomly pop into and out of existence. As Lawrence Krauss explains, it may be the case that "nothing" is such an unstable state that it may necessarily HAVE TO produce something.

Irony of the first steps of my disconnect with religion was Easter - it dawned on me that there was some irrational connection in regards to the Easter Bunny, eggs, candy, and somehow it’s connected to Christ rising…. I’d later learn how Christianity cannibalized pagan holidays as means to bring pagans to their faith - this would include Christmas which was the celebration of the winter solstice, after they outlawed the decoration of trees.
@danielkeizer4174
@danielkeizer4174 Ай бұрын
Correct. The spring equinox was celebrated with symbols of fertility and new life. 🐑, 🐇, 🐥, 🥚. The most disgusting theft of symbols was to connect Jezus to a lamb and his death as innocence being sacrificed just to associate it with those pesky pagan symbols as to easily convert them. As they did with the yule tree. Even Halloween is basically pagan and reverted to a Christian conceptually fitted view point.

"If you weren't there to witness it then you are just taking it on faith." This puts me in mind of the CREATIONIST INSURANCE COMPANY: "Is this the CREATIONIST INSURANCE COMPANY? I'd like to file a claim. My cabin up at the lake burned down and I had it insured against fire." "Did you actually see it burning?" "No but we came up to spend a weekend and found nothing but ashes where the cabin used to be." "Yes, but you didn't actually witness it burning, so you don't know that it really burned down. We'll have to deny your claim."

I will admit my comment is hasty. I haven't even listened yet. The tag line "don't need evidence, just believe" made me roll my eyes. I may be wrong to assume but I'll bet my knowledge and experience is slightly more extensive than the caller in some areas but I imagine they'd have some questions if I told them to do and believe what I say about certain subjects simply because I know better. It's a rule for small children so that parents can ensure their safety. I honestly think that religion is useful for those in power to maintain the juvenile aspects of cognitive development. I feel sad for those who don't have questions. They have traded their developmental maturity for a sense of security which doesn't work.

"Have we humans witnessed our births..." Parents have witnessed the birth of their children, who have witnessed the birth of their children who have then witnessed the birth of their children. So, yes, yes we have. Plus the fact that children usually have some traits carried over from at least one of the parents, or grandparents, or in some cases aunt/uncles as they are siblings of your parents and have inherited those from your grandparents, is a pretty good sign that evolution is a thing. Christianity have 0 evidence for their magical explaination. Plus, christianity as a whole is even worse off then other religions as it's not even a real religion but an amalgamation of stories stolen from older religions and folk tales from around the world. It's not even original.

Clearly evidence is not needed for people to believe things. That kind of goes without saying if you've been on Earth longer than about 10 minutes. However, without evidence you either believe it or you don't, and that's the end of it. "Oh geez! I don't `need` evidence to believe something I don't currently believe? Well! Fancy that! I think I'll believe it now!" - Said no one, ever.

Why do religious people require your belief? They believe that god created and owns everything, like a giant HOA. These religious people have appointed themselves to be god’s HOA property managers. They make the rules, post those annoying signs, collect the rents, impose penalties and keep a large slice of god’s property rent income, for themselves, not for god.
