I lived in GA for 40 years and remember the Gold Club well. There was other famous strip clubs there to. My friend's dad was a lawyer that represented strip clubs in Atlanta.

@@antmanv05 I wonder why Atlanta was such a big strip club town. We had a local politician that got a free trip to Atlanta paid for by interests that wanted special legislation here. This was during this time of the Gold Club.

@GaryJenkinsMafiaDetective Atlanta was a partying wild town back then. I don't know about now. I'm older and out of that scene. But it had it all. Music, sports, clubs, bars and some of the best strip clubs in the country. When the Olympics came it was all that x 100 and a global party. I went to 4 or 5 Olympic events. Fond memories of the 80's and 90's. BTW- it's Scott Hanna here😁

I remember when this happened. It was the late 80s and early 90s and Atlanta was the place to be. My husband used to tell me about the times and people he ran into when he was in the dope game. He told me about the time he was in the VIP section of the Gold Club with Isiah Thomas, Magic Johnson, Doc Rivers and I forgot who else. It was pretty wild.😂😂😂😂

I lived in ATL for the last 32 years - the Gold Club wasn't that big time, tbh. It only got wild just before it all went down. Was it a little crazier than your averagel strip bar? Yes. Was it even the craziest club in ATL during that time? No

@@ambassador724 thanks for an insider look at the Atlanta club scene. I think the Gold Club drew all that attention because of the mob connections and the celebrities. Did these local celebrities go to the other clubs?

I was living in the neighborhood when that place was built. It even looked like a monument to the Mob. I am curious as to how such a button-down town as ATL had full-nude-plus-alcohol clubs. That's what made ATL the last stop on the stripper train before you hit the Big Time, aka Scores in NYC. We working class folks didn't make it to Gold Club. That was top of the mountain. Next down was Tattletales, made famous by the Motley Crue song. Pink Pony is where you'd find us. Pool tables in the back (on riser so you could still see) and those two freaky goth chicks. IYKYK baby. Good times. Edit: Kaplan looks like one of the old Murder Inc. crew. Tough and ugly.

@@hankhillsnrrwurethra it is interesting how this got its start here. I talked with another listener who lived in Atlanta and he said those years were go go business years and a lot of money was flowing plus the professional athletes.
