Slmz, translation of blind follow at times isn't correct...wat should be said is just follow.

Can someone show me from a classical Arabic dictionary (not a translation) where taqleed means to blindly follow as coined by Abu Khadeejah. I want to know how it was understood by Arabs and not non Arabs like Abu Khadeejah etc.

Blind imitation and madhhab-hooliganism are not permissible for anyone in this umma. Because this means stay ignorant! It is also contrary to the following hadith: "Seeking knowledge is obligatory for everyone."

Taasub to a madhab is not permissible but so are those who say that madhabs are against the Quran and Sunnah. The madhabs are scholarly work over thousands of years and here people are who btw are layman saying that the Shafiee madhab for example is against Quran and sunnah that is false

How can a person be mujtahid if he follows a madhab. Mujtahid means that he has a great knowledge of quran Great knowledge about our profets life. Great knowledge of sunnah.. Great knowledge of ahadees Great knowledge about the sayings of sahaba. Great knowledge about the sahabs life. Great knowledge about the ravees who are in sanad of ahadees. How can a person be mujtahid if he is bounded by a madhab. I always say that this shaykh has something wrong i smells something wrong always by his sayings. Is he a hanafee

Can you quote the part you mean? The translation of the shaikh's words read, "It is forbidden for the one who is able to make ijtihad to blindly follow." (quoting the translation shown at 3:28)

@@QadirJaan-n9wthis is not the position of the Hanafis. This is the position of All Madhabs and the majority of the Muslim ummah. Do you really think an ignoramus who doesn’t know Usool, Arabic etc can do Ijtihad? Subhanallah
