I played FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH Demo and I'm a *sucker* for how well the characterization and hints were made for "Those who know". And while it can go from obvious stuff to spoiler stuff, I think it's worth to make a highlight of these to appreciate the work and details put into my favorite reveal of FF7 (specially with how much shit we can give them from time to time about changing stuff that we don't like etc etc.) (Also I love the novel and everyone should read it, but don't worry, it's not mandatory to understand the story as a whole, just add stuff to the world)

Literally one of the coolest parts is when clouds house explodes, and he is blasted into the exact spot that the shinra Guard is as if to point to the fact he is that guard. So cool

I know right? I first saw it in video and I think I was distracted so didn't catch until I play it on my own and was very pleased with already seeing and hearing real Cloud lying there, but the way it merged into one was amazing, love things like that

Fun thing I noticed, well more a little theory, is when Sephiroth says "am I even a Human being" that's the exact moment Genesis shows up in Crisis Core but in Rebirth/demo it fades to black cause Zack gets Briefly knocked out by a Genesis attack so probably doesn't recount it fully for Cloud to use that memory.

@@DroWarriorOfLight He is a divisive character to say the least I know haha but at this point, considering how the story has left Genesis, I think the people who hate him just have to accept that he will appear at some point and probably be a important character to some extent maybe not in rebirth but def in part 3. I mean, they gave Dirge Of Cerberus Enemies of all things a return so I can’t see them passing up the opportunity of doing something big with Genesis. He is one of the few left that has a close history with Sephiroth. Personally feel Crisis Core gets too much hate but that’s the FF community for you, we all got our faves/most hated haha

@@guitarwizard123 I totally can see and wouldn't mind them using Compilation characters done well. The best example is Cissnei, it just makes sense for her to appear near Gongaga, and her confirmation is a very much welcomed one. Everything similar to that? Then sure! why not Dirge might be a mess, but their small cameos in the Yuffie DLC was pretty fine, and more importantly super fun to play against, which an important point.

Just platinumed the VII Remake on PS4 again. Won't be able to play Rebirth at launch but I am already certain I will enjoy it much more than the Remake.

1 or 2 little details you missed regarding not cloud/cloud. In the truck when not cloud talks to the trooper and he answers its the same voice actor. In his mums house she mentions his trooper uniform

I love it; actually, one of the scenes I wanted to see the most in a potential remake for a while was the real moment of Cloud visiting his mother with his grunt outfit. I always got the impression that she being all excited about his son and his SOLDIER outfit with a Cloud flustered about it, meant to be that he was feeling bad instead because it *wasn't* a SOLDIER outfit and maybe hesitate to tell her the truth. So I hope eventually there's a better/accurate version of it during the reveal or something

Thank you once again Light! Since the TGS days I was truly happy with Cloud characterization and how hard they went with the twist portrayal so I think it deserves to be highlighted and mentioned (while the novel parts was a pleasant surprise as it's my favorite one). It's actually one of my pet peeves the wrong assumptions or wild interpretation of characters so I make sure to never get influenced by my biased thoughts to spread a wrong interpretation or something about one

Glad you enjoyed it! I remember that during the TGS days, when I saw the couple of cutscenes showing Cloud behaving like that and many of my worries went away because the details were so on point, so this whole demo was such a good experience for me already ♥

UPDATE: I didn't mention this one in the video, but remember how in the OG game at Tifa's room there's also a letter from the kids? Well, in this demo we don't have that one to read but it appears in the novel itself, if you are curious. Basically the kid treats Tifa as his gf so she's fuming and go to train with Zangan immediatly to blow some steam lmao (which leads into more teachings from him about controlling her rage)

OH man, with this I realized how much I'd like a type of Boss battle with Tifa and Zangan in part 3 (To unlock her final weapon or limit maybe) in some fashion. He seems to have much more focus now

I believe when you (Zack) talks to the trooper near the back of the truck and the trooper says something it sounds as the same voice actor of Cloud (at least in the English vocals)

I thought about that one! In Japanese he asks for an "Osananajimi" which is basically the term Chilhood Friend or Girl next door that Cloud and Tifa were always associated with. I thought it didn't fit the categories but certainly is another nice sneaky wink

No one taught me or y'all this. But… In order to use Cloud’s Spin Attack and Thrust Attack. You must,”Hold Down Square”. ☝️ You’re welcome. I never knew about this until yesterday 🤷 I fight better and keel faster without Holding Down Square though. Cloud fights too low for my style. But it was nice to finally learn it 😤

Yeah, there are some small extra techniques besides the abilities. Holding square for a spin more "AoE" attack is something that carries from remake, meanwhile there's also the long range attack Cloud has that is clicking square as soon after you dodge with O; He'll start swinging like crazy throwin blade beams. Details to look forward to per character.

When you go home to meet Claudia,her speech is very similar or even the same like aerith mom was speaking in remake if i remember correctly. Showing how messed up clouds memory is Edit: or was it some flashbacks.....i dont know as i played it few years ago

Oh! I think I know what you mean. In Remake Cloud sleeps at Aerith's house and has a dream about this speech from Claudia. But yeah, it was indeed his own mother referencing this same flashback. I *think* the conversation matches, and this is only an extended version of it, although with his messed up memories of having flashes of it.
