Check the o-ring that goes between the pick up tube and oil pump. Common problem with gm 4.8-5.3s. O-ring splits and the pump pulls air.

In reality an engine only needs as much as 5psi oil pressure ...

It's not running a pull and they just changed the oil, you can rev it up a little and make sure it's bled any air out of the system, which did scavenge a few PSI. Still not enough to prevent it cooking itself during a pull though haha

Alcohol fuels end up diluting the engine oil rather quickly- especially in cars like this. It never really gets to evaporate the fuel out of the oil. Methanol engines quiet often only run the oil through the engine once and the dump it into a puke tank! Not shit. If your not doing that, meth cars usually drop the oil after only 1 or 2 passes

You could build a large airbox in the passenger compartment in the Jet Mullet, and feed it air from the base of the windscreen and various other places, the front of the car for instance and even through the roof, that way you can have balanced aerodynamics left/right for high speed

Check to make sure that you have/are using the correct oil pressure sending unit for the year of your Corvette (Ruby's) oil pressure gauge. They are not all the same specs even if they may look the same. I use to work for GM Partech and dealt with problems like that all the time. The wrong or defective sending unit could be giving false/incorrect/innaccurate readings to the gauge. Check it with a mechanical gauge to be sure.

I would suggest installing a grab handle out of nylon on the door panel and also a flush mounted push button for the door latch. That way in a emergency you're not struggling to get the door open. Just a thought

Not if they keep throwing those little truck motors from the junkyard in it. But something over 400 cubic inches......of course. Unless ya build a smaller motor with a full-on high performance rotating assembly in addition to all the other goodies. Because it's gonna take a shit load of horse power & torque to even think about running 7's and have an engine live through it. If they put what is equal to the power output of Leroy in this thing and having a full body plus that wicked Power Glide/rear-end/shift kit package from RPM.......it should be even faster than Leroy.

@@nate0765 Nate 07.........I agree. I wish they would just go ahead and drop Leroy's first 427 they got back from Texas Speed into Ruby and be done with it. The jet car is so far out, and they'll make so much more money by then, they could afford a whole other new motor from Texas Speed. But if I'm not mistaken, if they get Ruby to run in the 7's eventually, they'll have to add even more tubing to that roll cage in order to be allowed to run 7's at a real track. So I'm assuming they don't want to do something that powerful with Ruby just yet. Or else that new cage would've been fabbed even more to cradle all sides of the driver. What we wish and what they have planned are 2 different things.......and I'm one of the wishers too.....lol.
