its doable, join a pistol club that does IPSC matches- 9mm and reflex sights are common, and SiGs are def available, theres a few blokes at mine that run them (I don't like em, to wide for small hands. I share Hazards condition there)

@@HairTrigger223 Problem being the less than 120mm barrel length for the clone correct version, unless you have a Cat G licence and get it for collecting purposes, then you can't actually shoot it. Only way to actually build and enjoy a clone correct version would be on a Cat D licence, and at that point the effort makes it no longer enjoyable.

@@thomasarmstrong3917 Nah, i'm an aussie gun owner and you can absolutely still get handguns. The process for handguns takes months and it sucks compared to the U.S, but it is doable if you really want them. Rifles/shotguns are way easier though.

Australia adopted the the FN Hi-Power pistol as the SLP (Self Loading Pistol), 9mm, Mark 3 around 1966. It has been the General Service pistol although HK and Glock pistols have been issued to specific units in small numbers.

Many thoughts in the M17. We just got some back from service and it features the amazing FEATURE to have the small arms maintainers (who were “trained” to “maintain” small arms. “” ) to install the plunger that is acted on by the extractor spring to retain the extractor backwards. Fun fact, the out of place extractor can lock up a slide and then fall completely out in your hand during shift change!

One of the differences between the US military m17 and the civilian p320 m17 edition, is that the military m17 can retain its rear irons even when an optic is attached. This is because on the military version, the rear sight is retained by a Torx screw that goes through the bottom of the slide into the rear optic block. One possible reason Sig didn't bother making it easy to retain your rear irons when a optic is in play, could be because the Sig Romeo optic has a rear aperture cut into its frame. So even if the electronics go down, you can still aim using the rear aperture cut and the front post. Of course, if you prefer literally any other manufacturer, you're boned.

I went with the p320 compact then swapped out the grip module with the M1811 from Brouwer. Absolutely love it. Currently saving to get an Aimpoint ACRO for it. Great for engaging Emus

Watching this, I now remember why I tend to stay away from Sigs and stick with either the 1911 or M92 platform. Fairly easy to work on, no major issues in my experience and if a company somehow messes up either of those platforms, you know they done goofed.

My own p320 is my go to handgun. It’s being built still but I’d love the have an external safety on my handgun… only issue is, the AXG grip module doesn’t have a safety cut

I believe the reason why they don't sell the fcu with a curved trigger is probably because that was the reason why the original pistol would fail the drop test. All the flat faced triggers afterwards are lighter so it avoids that.
