Thanks Thomas for another informative review. I have a 2013 S6 and I'm looking to upgrade to a 2015 S8. The S8 Plus us super rare in Australia so the S8 will have to do. I used to have an A7 with the ventilated/heated/massage seats, and I miss those in the S6. Hence the S8 gives those comforts back, plus an even better engine and that B&O sound system.

That matte sliver paint does look really cool though and those cascade indicators are a neat touch. The interior is superb and I am glad to see buttons for heating/ventilation and a nice set of analog dials. I don't like the excess of controls on touchscreen in many modern cars. I think the engine could sound more sporty given its performance. The looks are very discreet and that is probably what most A8 customers want.

Hello Thomas! I am really glad I found this channel. Your car reviews are very informative, professional and fun. A pleasure to watch. On the "leather issue" I completely agree that car manufacturers should move to more use of faux leather and alcantara (hopefully produced in a way that does not harm the environment - PVC) I have to say that I think many people who are not that enlightened on this issue, may respond better to your comments on the use of leather (and consider not going for genuine leather) if you present them in a more informative way (even though the cruelty to animals are facts and you are passionate about this issue). It sometimes seems that some of your reviews (momentarily) get slightly compromised when you get annoyed by the use of leather, which then leads to the review being more biased than your very professional show deserves (f.ex on how comfortable seats are and how they look -> take the next gen. seats in the Tesla Model S). I think it´s also good to for example comment on the leather clothed dashboards (which MANY people think looks good), and inform about non leather options they could have used. As a presenter you are of course fully entitled to have your OWN opinions on style, comfort etc. But I believe it is important to express them as that, as you absolutely do on other car related issues, when you ask us as viewers to say what we think in the comment section. Just a litte constructive, friendly "criticism". Keep up the good work, sir! Best regards, Alexander H.

Great to see this car in such detail, and the acceleration is just hilarious. For me it needs to have the aluminium wing mirrors, not sold on the carbon fiber, even the black trim is a bit questionable. But it's an S8 you can customize it as you want it. Matt Floret Silver looks great though!

Just the perfect car for me. Screw all your italian pastarides & rice rockets. This is just the best! Ultimate luxury car with a roaring V8 in a car that looks sporty but not so flashy as a lambo. Not a big fan of the rims though.. They look like renault clio style. Big ass chrome rims or just completely black is still best. :) Just Purrrrrfect! Amazing review Thomas!

The Carbon Fibre Mirror's seem to go rather well with the rest of the car considering the fact that it is an S model from AUDI. That's the thing with most fast AUDI's where the styling is so timeless and discreet that it would come as a surprise to most of the savagery that lies under the bonnet, like a wolf in sheep's clothing if I may. The paint job is really refreshing and I totally agree with you on the subtle shoulder lines being distinctly accentuated by the Matte paint finish.

to be honest Thomas.... i'd also go for the analog old design cockpit ... and only jus little screen between the rev counter and the speedometer ..... it gives a sense of knowing you're still driving a car that's build from a benchmark of old design feel than these big screen dials that make you feel futuristic ...my opinion ... especially for a saloon/ sporty car that this S8........ Lord bless my hustle so i can accomplish such ...

Halllo Thomas, I really liked your unbiased review. Keep it up. In my opinion, the exterior is bit underplayed. Enhanced A5, who would like to have a analog clock inside. Funny though. On the other hand, the instrument cluster looks too flashy on day light. What do you think? Center console resembles a cockpit. Nice. I would expect the car to be bit different for a 1,50,000 euro. Btw haben sie über Darmstadt gefahrt. Learning German. Cheers

+tsint We've got a Sepang Blue Matt R8 with us at the moment and yes the paintwork is difficult to keep clean, it marks so easily and you can't polish it.

Yeah, when I go to Hong Kong I ride in the back of S-class Benzes. In Western Europe, my company's transportation vendor has E series Benzes, and so I ride a lot in them too. In Dubai and Abu Dhabi, I always seem to get picked up in both 5 and 7 series BMW's. In Shanghai, I ride in both A6's and A8's. To me there's no comparison, at least from a passenger's standpoint; I much prefer Audi's offerings over those of BMW and MB. Being quite familiar with each and preferring the Audi is why I bought an A6 last summer.

yeah i think just during the 1990s mercedes and bmw stood out..but now they are just like a full size honda..audi has always been cheap looking and driving at mercedes benz prices for repairs..but the s8 plus body reminds me of the mercedes w140,w124,w201 from the 1990s.and i love it.sadly i think they are going to make the s8 ugly again, to look more like a lexus or honda for 2018

The styling of this car looks like a larger version of the A4, which should not be the case for the flag ship model. The interior is good and I like that the infotainment screen can be retracted. I am not a fan of unpainted carbon fibre used in the interior and exterior. When talking about speed, could you please mention mph as well as kmh, as the UK and USA use mph for the unit of speed.
