Excellent narration by Greg Houser. Good tone, cadence, intonation, pacing (approx. 150 wpm) and overall delivery in crisp American accented English. Thank you for this work. Benjamin Franklin was a great, not perfect, man. More people should read and/or listen to his autobiography.

Was it for a college class .. a paper , an exam ? I fell asleep and missed a part maybe after an hour and then listened til about three three and a half hours in.... and then I scrolled through .... can you guys please tell me what you really thought ? I feel that in a number of places in this book he actually didn't say much he's talkin , using a lot of words but he's not really talking about his personal relationships much , not talkin about people high up in government that he knows or is friends with.... did you get their feeling there was supposed to be another part of the book the way It kind of ended abruptly.... this is a guy who was extremely popular in both Paris and also London.... he was also a ladies man.... that's why I'm thinking is there a part that's missing ? This guy hung out with and was close friends with some of the most famous people between France and England and also America.... am I mistaken when I say there's an awful lot he left unsaid ? I feel that even though he did a lot of talking that in many parts of the book he actually did not say much . Can you both please tell me what you think ...honestly ? Edit : it is considered an unfinished biography . Who knows if he was ever going to write about his relationships and interactions with a number of people in high places and people who were considered celebrities . They also said a number of his papers were destroyed in Philadelphia . So it's possible he did not finish the book but I have another theory... what if he did write a lot about other people and what if his son removed all that.... especially if Ben Franklin wrote about powerful people in England . The reason I say this , his son moved to England , was living there .

that can't possibly be the end of the autobiography... did he die before writing the rest? cause it ends very abruptly with no concluding statement.

Why would you leave out a section in Franklin’s autobiography?! You read it as: “Having emerged from the poverty and obscurity in which I was born and bred, to a state of affluence and some degree of reputation in the world, and having gone so far through life with a considerable share of felicity, my posterity may like to know, as they may find some of them suitable to their own situations, and therefore fit to be imitated.” But you left out a part between “…considerable share of felicity…” and “…my posterity may like to know…” That section reads as this: “…the conducing means I made use of, which with the blessing of God so well succeeded…” It should read like this: “Having emerged from the poverty and obscurity in which I was born and bred, to a state of affluence and some degree of reputation in the world, and having gone so far through life with a considerable share of felicity, the conducing means I made use of, which with the blessing of God so well succeeded, my posterity may like to know, as they may find some of them suitable to their own situations, and therefore fit to be imitated.” I now see that you seem bias in your readings. Is it that you are wanting to keep peoples minds believing that Benjamin Franklin was an Atheist or at best a deist? He was neither. I’m not saying he was a Christian, but he had a belief in God and that God’s hand guided the affairs of men. I find what you left out sad.
