It's a short one as there's no script in existence for this episode. Kolchek was played by Peter Arne, who will be popping up in a few future episodes. Arne was murdered in 1984 when he was due to guest in Doctor Who Peter Davison story Frontios causing a hasty recasting.

More of a James Bond feel to this one, with plenty of Cold War paranoia on display. I would assume Keel barely appears so that Ian Hendry could have a break from the gruelling production schedule, but there are a couple of notable actors in the guest cast. Frank Thornton (Sir William) would later become famous via Are You Being Served, while Nyree Dawn Porter was one of the stars of the renowned BBC adaptation of The Forsyte Saga a few years after this.
