Hi psych? We got a patient over here hysterically crying, just got diagnosed with cancer. Idk, too many emotions and shit. Can you come see them?

@K I'm sorry for what you have been through, but trauma is not a competition. Everyone processes stressful situations differently, lacking empathy toward others is what made those physicians treat you they way they did. I hope you go to live a better life
@distalradius8146 Жыл бұрын
@K Well to be fair, you clearly didn't die, and in the case of Death vs Grief, yeah no doctor is gonna give an F about Grief in that comparison. Priorities. Sorry about the colostomy.

How about the nurses thinking a patient is manic bc he said he’s going to leave with his daughter in Atlanta and it was true!…the resident repeats this non-sense in the consult in the killing part.

"any doctor in the hospital can do capacity" 💀 I say this every time. Usually under my breath, unless there's a med student. Then it's a ✨️teaching point✨️
@emilylevine41749 ай бұрын
i love how the patient's complaints are 100% valid as almost anyone whos been in a hospital has experienced these things yet hes deemed delusional for calling them out

When I hear "general capacity to make medical decisions", I ask, "What do you want them to do that they don't want to do?" Sometimes then I get the actual question, and sometimes it seems like they say "Well nothing yet..." and then I say, "Call us when that happens." When they insist that I come see the patient I provide some education as to why it does not make sense to assess capacity in a patient who is agreeing to follow through with a well thought out plan.

Capacity to make medical decisions 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@petelancaster67154 ай бұрын
To be fair, often it’s an older patient with a history of dementia whose family has legal authority over them and is making a decision on their behalf and who insist the patient doesn’t have capacity while the patient is currently equivocally demonstrating reasonable understanding and is expressing a contrary choice.

As someone who just started doing consults a few months ago; my god, like half the consults are for "capacity", just as vague. And case management is always pressing to have guardianship forms filled out immediately!

lmao i'm in psych at a nursing home and everyone will send me patients like this 😂😂😂 and then be like wowww you're so good with them :0!! when all i do is be like that sounds frustrating. no you're right they shouldn't just run out of the room like that. and then get them some water or something and continue listening to them. and then we try to work out what we can do as a team with them, me, and other staff.

Anyone else wanna punt the doc asking for a consult? Like I have a hard time standing up for myself when it comes to medical decisions and I'll be honest, my doctors aren't the best as explaining any kind of "plan" if there is one, but when a patient is saying that no one listens to them on their medical team, you better sit your unhappy ass down and genuinely listen to the patient because THEY are the ones experiencing all these symptoms and issues. Just because you have a piece of paper that says you can medically treat them doesn't mean you can ignore their voice or attempt to silence it. #endranthere

Lmfao lowkey why I wanna go into psych. Nobody actually talks to patients 😂
@kareendeveraux18478 ай бұрын
Eh... they don't really talk, they monitor per their own definition "abnormal behavior", fabricate the most heavy diagnose and drug patients up until they are zombies and incapable to disagree with bullcrap "medical treatments". So, the other medical professionals can do some expensive treatments, the patient actually doesn't need, worsen everything and require additional treatments to generate more profits. This is what the medical system has become. 😂
