"Nothing happens here that doesn't happen there" Took me 25 years to understand that... Summed up in a song. Well played gents..

The A/V effect of this really shows how you could throw these dudes in any era and their music would fit in just fine. They are a perfect example of timeless music.

Ambience. Setting. Nature. Rustic. Cinematography. Sound (old time gramophone). Everything about this is so perfect. It brings back so many memories of childhood. I always come back to this. I’ve been watching this for over a decade and will be watching for several more (I hope).

I just divorced the mother of my children...a pathological liar, shoplifter, and serial adulterer diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder who I doubt uttered a single truthful word in 17 years of marriage. I can't express how it feels to listen to this song. Thanks to the Avetts I have something to hum in my head as I walk down the street....
@MRob-bi3xx10 жыл бұрын
Yes, hum it in your head and keep walking down the sunny side of the street. Best wishes!

Thank you...but oddly enough, the situation got worse for my children just this week. So by extension I'm not doing ok as their father. A music video comment section is not the venue for such conversation other than to say that pathological dishonesty is a far more destructive human trait for families than those who have never dealt with it can possibly imagine. The weight of lies, indeed. We now even have a president whose dishonesty is weighing upon an entire nation...
@seangraves25246 жыл бұрын
You mean like unemployment going down,,, stock market going up. Being respected in the world again. Yeah that's terrible.This is the first president in my lifetime that actually is trying to do what he said he was going to do. How you can call that is a lie or dishonest is beyond me. There are none so blind as those that will not see... Your right about one thing a music comment section is not a place for such conversations, so why did you bring it up.

god this is such a good song, these guys just bring such soul and life to their music, they tell a story with each song and they tell it differently each time through different live performances. I was always taught when playing/singing to tell the song's story so that it pertains to people listening so that they may make their own relationship to that song....these guys nail it

Exactly! A great example of that is some of that old Dock Boggs stuff like "Sugar Baby." It's so gritty and dirty and raw (recorded back in the 30s), but it just adds to the feel and emotion of the song.

+Ferdinand the Bull The older Nikon DSLRs from 2009-2011 had some horrid audio, and given the fact that it was pretty distinct, & the fact this screams ungraded Nikon footage, I think that's the reason why.

I think they were going for that high lonesome sound, squarely in the bluegrass vein.
