This song first came out after my husband was killed in a plane crash. I bought the CD and must have sobbed to it 10,000 times. Watching this new video, and hearing it again after more than 10 years, takes me right back to that time. And as much as it hurts, I now feel that I float more on top of those beautiful lyrics and harmonies, instead of underneath them.

We first saw Nickel Creek in September of 2002 at the Pagosa Springs Folk fest. My son was 6 months old and I vividly remember her standing in the isle with him in a sling while they played When You Come Back Down. Flash forward 22 years to Bend, OR on Saturday night with my wife, now 22 yr old son and our 17 year old son. We laughed, we cried, we sang. It was magical. Thank you for being the theme music for our family's journey. It's truly been a gift.

I can’t listen to this song without shedding a tear anyway, but the 20 years of experience, both from the artists and myself have just added another dimension of emotion. The first time I heard this, I had just graduated college and didn’t know ... anything. I decided to risk relationships and career plans and stability to join the AmeriCorps*National Civilian Community Corps to serve for a year. I’d never stationed hundreds of miles from anyone I knew, but these were the exact words my boyfriend spoke to me. He knew I needed the time and space to grow and take chances and I woke up next to him this morning, married almost 16 years, listening to our 5 kids downstairs. What a blessing.

This song was a lullaby I sang to my newborn in the middle of the night, those early sleepless years. I knew my purpose was to give him wings and that I needed to cherish those brief years of holding him in my arms. He turns 20 this year. And he just drove out of my driveway on his way to work ❤ These days too are few and will soon be over but I'm proud of who he's become. Your music helped a young mother learn how to love with open arms ❤

It reminded me of the Beatles breaking up in that I understand if a member wants to do something really different but when the best music you make is with your other band members- best to tough it out and make it work- kind of like a marriage. I stumbled across NC by random chance flipping through TV channels. I stopped for a moment out of curiosity to listen, and it wasn't long before my jaw was hitting the floor watching these kids (at the time) playing their instruments like aged pros. I went out the next day and bought their CD (NC/NC) not knowing anything other than the song I heard them play on TV. I was blown away, and have been one of my favorite bands ever since. And have played them to anyone who would listen, and turned on dozens to these guys. Talent, heart and soul. I took my wife to see them at the Pabst theater in Milwaukee Wi. In 2005,her 40th B-day, when I first met her she had lost most of her self esteem due to a abusive relationship, while in that relationship she had a son and hoped things would change, but after giving it a couple years she realized she had to get out of it for not only her son but her very life, when she explained every thing she went through I knew I would have to be there for her and give her some space to heal emotionally and get her to trust in me and to Love herself again, it was a hard road for us both, after about 6 years of living together we decided it was time to think about getting married, she still had trust issues from her Hellish relationship so many years back, this song came out about the same time she turned me onto this song and after holding on to each other every time it came on,I knew she finally opened her self up to be able to trust in the ability to Love herself and those around her, we've been together now for 30 years, and married for 23 years, so this song is a very special song for my wife and I, as well as her 36 year old son, but he probably wouldn't admit it, he's not much into folk music, thank you, Nickle Creak, for helping me bring out her beautiful soul, and to trust in love again ✌❤🙏

They were together for this stream as they were writing new music for an album without a release date yet, but hopefully in the nearish future. I imagine there will be some shows to support it.

I only just realised you are doing 2 shows in london soon. it's sold out! I'm not surprised but i'm so annoyed with myself i didn't know sooner. very early 2000's I heard you on John Peels radio show I went and found a copy of 'This Side' in HMV music shop. Personally I loved this album since the day i bought it. I've put my name on a waiting list just in case but I feel like it's a once in a lifetime event to see you all live doing Nickle Creek songs. Can you get me in! lol

I just have to say this is either kismet or coincidental (although I'd like to believe it's the first option). Nickel Creek was my first concert at 12. I cried when I heard this song and remember meeting them and watching Sarah play with someone's mandolin in the crowd as she talked about music and life. After years of putting my own mandolin down I chose to listen to this song over the weekend just because I wanted something nostalgic to listen to and I haven't stopped listening to it since. And at work I decided to play this and come to find this literally was just mind blowing to me how serendipitous (or not) this was. Anyway, thanks for all the memories Nickel Creek.

My old girlfriend Rebecca was from Murray and introduced me to y'all 20 years ago. We followed yall to some shows in my drafty old VW bus. This really brings back the memories and feels. It's great to hear you play again!

It’s sad that Live From Here was cancelled. I loved that show. Great artists and funny. We need this music and that show to come back. A way to get talented people noticed. I realize Nickel Creek has been around for 30 years. I saw them in the late 90s when you could sit mere feet away.

And they would step away from the microphone to stand on the edge of the stage and sing a couple songs with no electronics at all. The audience had to hold our breath in order to hear them. An interesting exercise in "this is the way it used to be".
